Used other iOttie products before and have consistently been good quality products.
The phone dock is the size of the MagSafe ring on the back of the iPhone. Because it's round, I can put the phone in either horizontal or vertical positions.
The prongs that slide into the vent are hard so it won't move and coated in a rubberized material that doesn't scratch the vehicle.

It has a long, non-removable cable that is thin and flexible. The connection is USB-C and it comes with a lighter to USB-C connector as well.
It also works if the vehicle has an USB connector. I'm using an USB to USB-C adapter and connecting it to the vehicle because I don't have an extra lighter plug, which will charge more slowly but works fine.
Although it's round and doesn't have the extra magnet on the bottom, it holds the phone securely.

I'm using it on iPhone Pro Max 13 with a MagSafe case.

The max charge capacity when using the provided lighter adapter is 7.5W, which is not as fast as Apple's desktop MagSafe charger, but it does work with any USB-C plug even if it doesn't provide as much power.

Reliable with a subscription, not for Apple users

I'm already using older (End of Life as per Arlo) Pro and Pro 2 cameras that served me well. These cameras connect to a base station and the base station has an USB drive serving as local storage. Arlo's cloud offering for these cameras provided 7-day recording and they integrate with HomeKit as well as Alexa and Google Home and SmartThings. These cameras don't support Apple's Secure Video storage but otherwise works for my needs.
The Pro 5S camera improves in almost every way. The hardware specs are great:
- Integrated spotlight
- Selectable B/W or Color night vision (Color uses the spotlight).
- Can be used with no base station, supports 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wi-Fi, and direct connection to Arlo's Alarm panel.
- 2K recording and streaming.
- Built-in Siren.
- Package, Person and Animal detection, but only with a subscription.
- 2-Way audio via the Arlo app and some integrations.

However, after dealing with Arlo's overseas support for about a week, someone in escalation support realized that these cameras, unlike their end-of-life sibilings, do not support HomeKit.
This implies no Apple TV support, and anyone in the family that would like access to the camera's livestream needs to install the Arlo app, which is not simple because it requires two factor authentication tied to the main user, meaning I need to sign in anybody that needs to use it. They cannot access the feed from the Apple Home app from their phones nor Apple watches.
They do however integrate with Amazon's Alexa and the integration works a lot quicker than with the older cameras. We have some Amazon Echos with screens through the house and it works well.
It also works with SmartThings, Google Home and IFTTT integrations (Use it to turn lights on when the camera detects movement).

Useful for emergencies but hardly convenient. These cameras are designed to be used with an active subscription.

It's worth it if one buys into Arlo's security packages and uses their alarm panel, which works better with their top tier subscription (Yes there are different subscription plans).

Battery life is good for 3 to 4 months. There's an optional solar panel for these and Arlo offers additional mounts including magnetic and ceiling mounts, as well as white, black and camo enclosures. The cameras are waterproof even when connected to power. They use a magnetic connector that works very well. If using a permanent mount, one can leave the enclosure attached to the mount and remove the camera body with a push of a button. The battery is nested inside. Very simple to change the battery, and much better than older models.
Overall, great cameras if an Arlo subscription is good for you and you're not relying on Apple's offerings.

Compact desktop TB4/USB-C hub

This is a true Thunderbolt 4 hub: It supports direct memory access and has three TB4 outputs that support video and up to 40 GB/s and one USB 3 port at 10 GB/s.
There are no other ports except the three Thunderbolt/USB4 ports and the single USB 3.

It's important to recognize that this is a desktop hub: Although it's very small, it requires its own power supply. The power supply is rather large, rated for 100W output (20 Volts) with a barrel connector. The hub does not work without its power supply, and because the power supply uses a barrel connector, the hub cannot be powered by the computer's USB-C charger. I think this is a big drawback because I didn't realize the power supply is required and unlike a portable hub, it cannot draw power from the laptop.
Further, it does charge a laptop but up to 60W when connecting it via the front TB4 port on the hub, and provides up to 15W on the three rear Thunderbolt ports.

I subjectively find the design of the hub to be nice, with a thick aluminum enclosure, with a color that's similar to a current MBP. I also like the rounded edges on the enclosure with no sharp corners.
Overall it's a nice although limited desktop hub.

Very convenient extension cable for SAE J1772 electric vehicle charger.

Because it's made to be portable, the electrical cable is thinner than the one from the wall charger, and it's rated for up to 32A (Hardwired home chargers are typically rated for 50A), which in retrospect I didn't consider.
The vehicle side connector seems well made, comparable to the one from the wall charger.
The female side that ties into the wall charger seems custom made and works well, with good solid connections.

The female side has a hinged cover and the vehicle side has a rubber cup that’s attached to the handle to cover the contacts when not in use.
Overall, great to have. Lightweight and easy to roll back into its storage bag. Remember it's rated for 32A and 17 ft. long. I would've preferred a 48A extension cable instead but this will do.

This top of the line Bose soundbar not only sounds great but has so many ways to listen to music as well and it's so simple to use.
My setup is a recent Sony TV (with eARC support) and an AppleTV 4K.
Initial setup was straightforward: Connected the Soundbar to the HDMI output with eARC support, and power cable. The eARC connection allows sound from the TV to the Soundbar and it's the only option that supports Dolby Atmos. The Soundbar also has an optical connector which I did not use. It comes with the power, HDMI and optical cables.
There is no sound from the soundbar yet. One needs to install the Bose music app on a mobile phone or tablet. I already have a Bose Smart Speaker and Bluetooth headphones so my account was already set up. The install process though the app was quick and simple, until the step where one has co wear a headband with a mic on, that is used just once to calibrate the soundbar to the room and where one would be sitting while watching TV. I wish this could've been done using the cell phone itself but the wired mic on a headband must be more accurate. This is done once so that's fine (It can be re-run from the app though). Bose calls this 'ADAPTiQ'.

One of the distinguishing features is that it has actual height speakers (For Dolby Atmos) which are cut through the glass top and fire upwards.
It also works as an Amazon Alexa assistant, and supports playing from the TV, Bluetooth, with an excellent device management from the app, Apple Airplay 2 with Apple Home support, DLNA, Chromecast (with direct play support from a server), Spotify Connect and from the Bose Music app, which itself supports some of the most common sources like Amazon Music, iHeart Radio, TuneIn, Pandora, SiriusXM and Spotify. When playing through the Bose app, the phone doesn’t need to be near the soundbar once it starts playing, as it connects directly.
It has a simple remote control with a few buttons but if used with a TV, volume can be controlled from either the TV remote or the AppleTV remote (Or other HDMI connected streamer), as well as from the Bose app on the phone.
When watching TV, the app indicates what kind of audio it's receiving, like PCM or Dolby Atmos.
So to the sound: As expected, sound is very crisp with good amount of bass. Bass, treble, center and height controls are on the app.
To test stereo separation, streamed some tracks with good stereo separation and I'm impressed how it's obviously distinct between left and right.
Sound is very detailed. Subtleties in audio tracks can be heard at lower volumes.
It can (and should) be set to also enhance speech content, which I've also seen in other high end soundbars.

Very small, speeds as advertised

This is very small, at about 2.5" by 2" and very thin.
The top shell is metallic and the bottom is rubberized.
It comes with a short USB-C cable.

Measured with Aja system test on an M1 MBP, it writes and reads at about the advertised speed of 1K MB/s, which is about the speed of the USB-C 10G port.
Note that Crucial launched the X9 Pro and similarly sized X10 Pro. The main difference is speed, where the X10 supports USB-C 20G port instead so the SSD can work much faster.

I'm using the 2TB SSD as a 'Time Machine' backup so I prioritized size rather than speed, so this is where the X9 comes in.
The box has a QR code that makes registration very quick, and does not come with any pre-loaded software, but it does come with a link for a 1-month for Adobe Creative Cloud.
It comes with a 5-year warranty and it's made in Thailand.

Faster than previous gen, but different

We have several Echos through the house including the first original Echo still working great.
In our bedroom we have the 1st gen Echo Show 5 in a nightstand, which we use as an alarm clock and picture frame among other Alexa functions, so took this opportunity to get this 3rd gen for the other nightstand.

This is a significant redesign from previous versions. The shape is more triangular and rounded. The buttons are easier to reach and shaped like their function symbol: Plus and Minus for volume and mic off, so it's easier to use at night.
The camera cover, like previous Echos physically covers the camera, which we always have covered.
The screen has much more noticeable rounded edges. This looks attractive but when playing videos, this version of Echo shrinks the video with black bars on every edge, so one can see the full video, but makes the viewing area smaller. Thankfully, it doesn't do this with pictures.

On the plus side, the screen is clearer, and it's much faster than previous generations. Also the applications (Skills) seem to be updated. For example, opening Prime Video looks more similar to the TV app than on the 1st gen.

I was planning on making both Echos a 'Stereo Pair' but one cannot pair a 1st gen with a 3rd gen. Perhaps because they don't quite sound the same, but disappointing regardless.
Talking about sound, the previous generation has a 3.5mm audio output but this one does not. It does however support pairing Bluetooth speakers.

To power the Echo, it comes with its own power brick which connects using a barrel connector recessed into the back of the Echo, so unfortunately it does not use standard USB-C ports to power it. To make it worse, our Back Echo 5 came with a white power cable, which looks quite odd.
Overall, the screen makes for a much better Alexa experience and can also be used to display compatible cameras and make alexa-to-alexa video calls, it's touchscreen and many skills are just more convenient.

Improved hardware, same Linksys experience

I've used Linksys routers for years, and different Velop routers since the first that came to market.
On the hardware side, it's a simpler device and the proprietary mesh connection between the nodes has been redesigned so it's no longer backwards-compatible like previous setups. This means this new Velop won't work as routers for previous-gen Velop nodes.
Linksys calls the new mesh system 'Cognitive Mesh' while their original system is called 'Intelligent Mesh'. Both are incompatible.
Comparing with other Velop nodes, these have simpler and much more affordable hardware: It has one gigabit WAN and one Gigabit LAN per node. It doesn't have USB ports not Ethernet switch not multi-gigabit ports.
My internet is 1 Gbps symmetric upload and download. I can get that speed via a wired connection to the router, so it can handle the load. As for WiFi, the best I got between Macbook Pro and Surface Pro laptops at home is about 500 Gbps. The Surface Pro 9, as well as other newer laptops can make use of the 6 Ghz band but won't get Gigabit speeds.

Overall it's a good improvement by removing superfluous features and making the nodes much smaller, and making the price much more reasonable. The software will be familiar to anyone that has used any recent Linksys router. One concern for some would be that the physical ethernet interfaces are Gigabit, not multi-gigabit, so it's great for connections up to 1 Gigabit. • Tablet mode: The 'Spin' in the name indicates this is a convertible laptop, so when folded with the screen on top, the keyboard becomes disabled, and one uses it via touchscreen. The screen has a gorilla glass (like phones) with a antimicrobial coating.

Because the ports are Thunderbolt, I was able to use both Thunderbolt and USB-C docks.
The laptop also has a 2K web camera which has a built-in cover (An actual plastic piece covering the camera behind the glass. Activated though a notch on top of the screen.
It also comes with a sleeve case to carry it in a backpack.
Fit and finish:
The case is all metal and the screen all glass. Hinges fold 360 degrees so it can work in tablet mode (ChomeOS switch to a tablet mode). It can also be set in a tent shape or with the keys pointing to the table when watching videos.
The hinge, edges and Acer logo are finish in a subtle rose gold that look very tactful.

Note that it also supports stylus made for Android/Chromebook (Those are different from Windows stylus or iPad ones).

ChromeOS is generally very secure, and is fairly straightforward to restore the laptop to like it came from the factory. Much of the system is 'read-only', and that makes it more resilient.
Keep in mind that ChromeOS, for much of its functionality requires internet connectivity, although there's plenty that can also be done offline as well.
Also keep in mind that Google collects plenty of data from Chrome. In return, a lot of what’s done on the device is backed up and synced into Google's cloud, so working on different devices or replacing a Chromebook is also a lot simpler.

Overall, I'm very impressed with this laptop and how capable ChromeOS is while being very secure.
The multiple-personality of the system running Chrome and web applications, Android and Linux is great but there are occasionally some rough areas in how these coexist, although it's been very good overall and it keeps improving.

The hardware in this laptop is top of the line, comparable with a business laptop. Consider this if looking for a premium Chromebook or even considering a high-end Android tablet, as it also runs Android and Linux.

I haven't used Android tablets in years because I didn't find them very good back then.
Then at home we use Chromebooks as well, and since modern 2-in-1 Chromebooks run Android apps, I didn't expect much else from Android tablets running plain Android.

However, my first impression is that this tablet flows very smoothly.
At around 11" diagonal, its size is perfect for couch surfing, and it's relatively light.
Being a Pixel tablet it does have some welcome customizations. This changed my mind about Android tablets.

Using the Porcelain finish, the theme of the interface including keyboard and other included Google apps is of earthly colors, and it can optionally customize the app icons as well. I like the consistency.
The HDR screen is vibrant, and by default it enhances colors. The actual edges on the screen are curved.
Widgets in the tablet stand out because there is so much more space for them to be useful. Particularly the Google TV.
If you're a Google TV user, this is very nice as it displays the top choices from different streaming apps that are linked with Google TV.

One of the standout features is the included dock.
Besides charging the tablet, the dock works as external speakers for the tablet. The dock itself doesn't have any connectivity besides connecting to the tablet. I'm impressed by it's sound given it's compact size: Bass has body and overall sound is very natural and clear. It has certain warmth to it given that bass is good but not does not take over. This sounds as good as other high-end speakers of similar size.

The dock uses a proprietary barrel connector and the included power adapter works only with the dock. The cable is attached to the power brick.
The tablet also has an USB-C connector which works for data, so I was able to use it with an USB-C hub from a laptop with a mouse and keyboard while charging. However there is no video output.
Also there is no docking keyboard, so it's either USB or Bluetooth keyboards, which have the tendency to discharge when needed.

So given this this tablet is more for entertainment than productivity, and that's OK with me.
When docked, the display can stay on and it comes with different weather and clock screensavers. These are nice but don't provide a whole lot of customization, yet.
Integration with Google Home: The Home app itself is what I'd expected in any Android tablet, but with the added benefit that works as a widget when docked and the screensaver is on, somewhat like a Nest hub but not quite. It's good for quickly accessing light settings without unlocking the tablet.
When docked, it also works as a cast receiver: any video or music app that supports casting can use it as a screen. This is disabled as soon as it's removed from the dock.
And another feature I like is that it's made to be shared across family members: Its supports multiple users as well as a guess mode. This to me reminds me of how Chromebooks work. It has a similar workflow and multiple users can be logged in and switch between them, etc.
It has a fingerprint sensor for quick login and authentication built into the power button (The only button besides volume), and although it's very thin I'm surprised how well it works: More consistently than my laptop.

The tablet has the Tensor G2 CPU and its Titan security processor, with 8 GB RAM. It has the same background removal features as a Pixel phone and proximity sharing, so finally it's easier to 'drop in' content when using a compatible phone, or copy/paste across other Android devices.
Both front and rear camera provide crisp images with 8 MP photos and 1080p video.
I also like that it has rubber feet so it's easy to stand up when not using the dock (I'm not using the additional case, just holding it).
There is also split screen support, so two apps can run side by side.

Overall it's a great tablet to keep in a living room or kitchen. Great sound through the dock and very fluid interface. The Porcelain color finish on my tablet works well.

It depends on your music tastes and budget :)
Keep in mind that these will act as surround speakers, so in this case you'll have surround speakers that are more powerful than the main speaker and that's not necessarily the best setup.
If I were contemplating such solution I'll stick with the Sonos Play for surround and use the Play:5 elsewhere as main speakers.

I have set up the beam and can turn off the tv with Alexa, but when I ask to have the tv turned on, it never turns on even though Alexa says it is done. What am I doing wrong? I have a TCL 49inc Roku tv. It is set up on both Sonos app and Alexa app.
It works for me, using a Hisense TV. "Alexa, Tun On TV", it turns on the TV connected to the Sonos Beam.
It could be an issue with the HDMI CEC configuration on your TV, or it could be that the phrase "Turn on TV" is configured on Alexa to do something else. Check on the Alexa app if there is a group, device or routine named either "TV" or "Turn on TV".
We have a Harmony hub remove already configured in another room and Alexa was turning that on instead when speaking to the Sonos. After renaming that activity via Harmony, then Alexa worked as intended on the soundbar.

Can an owner of the original non active 65t comment on the fit and stability difference with the active version? Curious if that and the extra IP rating is worth a look, or negligible.
I have both. (The second pair is for my wife). They are the same size, shape and weight. Besides slight color differences, the Active have a rubberized texture on the earbuds and on the charging case. The manufacturer's web site also indicates that it has a motion sensor, but I have not seen any difference when using the iOS app.
The silicon gel pieces look the same as the standard model. Battery life and other features are the same.
I've been using the standard model since it came out and the Actives for a few days, and didn't notice any difference in how they fit on my ears.

Yes, on phone calls, audio comes from both earbuds. Also each earbud has two mics, and uses the mic array to isolate ambient noise

Does the quick attention mode turn on when you rest your head against the the side of the airplane or headrest ? If so, can this feature be turned off ?
No, it doesn't activate when laying on a pillow, etc.

Let’s say the battery dies and I connect with a wire. Will noise cancelling work? I know Bose QC35 will provide a sound but no noise cancelling on that case. What about Sony?

Does the recently unveiled new version of MDR-1000x (WH-1000XM2) support multiple bluetooth connections as does Bose's QC 35 and all the other high-end wireless headphones? That was the only reason I haven't purchased the MDR-1000x.
It does remember multiple BT connections, and can connect to a music profile and audio(phone) profile simultaneously, but not to two music streams simultaneously.
