I rented this movie a few months ago and already felt like watching it again. So I bought it. To me this movie should be among titles like Pretty In Pink, The Breakfast Club, The Outsiders, and Empire Records. There are certain classic teen movies that everyone knows and says everyone HAS TO watch and this should be one that people mention. It's definitely more gritty than some of the other movies in this category. Seeing it for the first time when I was 19 years old I may be a little biased on how much I like it and relate to it. So if you are a teenager or young adult take it from me and watch this movie! As for this specific release- it's the only US blu-ray release (and the other blu-ray releases of it are a Canadian and UK), and there's not much for special features- just an audio commentary with the director and an original trailer. I have yet to watch the movie with with the commentary so I can't speak on that. I mostly wanted this for the movie, so I don't mind too much that there are little special features. I'm usually the type of person to watch supplements over and over but with River's edge I just want to watch the movie over and over.
