This is a marvelous show out of Canada. It takes place in the late 1890's and early 20th century. William Murdoch, a detective for the Toronto constabulary, is part detective, part scientist, and hopelessly in love with the lady medical examiner, Dr. Julia Ogden. The cast is great, the plots engaging, and all in all, just a great show.

What's great about it: The episodes are entertaining, suspensful, and you really care about the characters.
What's not so great: Can't think of anything that's not great about this show.
I would recommend this to a friend!
