Extremely wise decision. Think of it this way... Spend 1000 on a lens, and one of your aperture blades malfunctions, now you're out a grand. Or spend 150 more, and save yourself the grief of contacting the manufacturer, waiting on the phone for hours, just to find out they can't help you. Geek squad has walk in appointments, so you can talk to a human being, so all issues are resolved. "Still not buying the plan? 'oh no baby, what is ya doing?'"

This lens right here... Man this is the best macro lens I have ever used. It takes absolutely breathtaking photos of small subjects. Beautiful bokeh, great colors. Auto focus is great, lens stabilization is perfect. It's so quiet for video recording. It has a great weight, and feel to it, it doesn't feel cheap. It's great for product photography, because the resolution is amazing. Photos are so sharp, ordinary printers can't produce the amount of fine detail the lens produces.
