Do you need a smartphone to use Google Home? I'd like to give this to someone who has WIFI and a tablet but not a smartphone. If a smartphone is only required for setup, I could use my smartphone to set it up. Will this limit ongoing functionality?

I initially set this up in Dallas. Now that I am back in San Diego California, the device does not recognize my new location. When I ask "Where is the nearest Subway?" It will give me a location in Dallas but not in San Diego. How do I correct this?
