Mafia continued

Having played both the first and second Mafia games, I went into this one expecting to have the same fun as with the previous. I completely loved Mafia II until the one expansion, but on Mafia III I went in expecting the same quality out of the gate. The story was a little slow to start and after a few hours into the gameplay I found myself mostly dis-interested in the story. Some interviews (cinematics) I watch, others I go do something else while they are going. Some of the dialogue that is boring, I wish I could skip, but have not found a way to. All in all it is fun, but the story didn't really do it for me. I do think that with current events, some people may either get angered or add fuel to their fires with events in this game. If you like Mafia games expect the same level, just realize the story may or may not be as interesting as in the previous games.

Tom Clancy's The Division is a revolutionary next-gen experience that brings the RPG into a modern military setting for the first time. In the wake of a devastating pandemic that sweeps through New York City, basic services fail one by one, and without access to food orwater, the city quickly descends into chaos. As an agent of The Division, you'll specialize, modify, and level up your gear, weapons, and skills to take back New York on your own terms.

Beta player
on February 4, 2016

I was highly anticipating this game that when I got my beta code, I instantly went to download it. Logging in to the beta was a bit slow which was kind of expected. The character customization screen was really limited but again it was a beta. So you start off in a makeshift disaster camp, talk to this person, talk to that person routine and then you head out with the missions you received. Once you leave the safe zones is the only time your weapons come out and they are automatic, you cant ever empty your hands. I did a couple missions while exploring the part of the map that was available. Found supplies that had no use in the beta. Finally I stumbled across the base camp that you are shown you can grow in the trailers by completing things. Unfortunately the only one of 3 areas (Medical, Tech, and Defense/Soldier area) that you can expand is medical and once you complete the mission to unlock it, you can only unlock 2 additional parts to the medical. When you unlock the additional parts you gain more skills, again not available in the beta. The beta consisted of 1 mission which is what unlocked the Medical area, which leads me to believe that there is only 3 main missions, and then a few side missions (more obviously in the full). Once you've completed them, those side missions completely go away, no respawn mission times for more supplies... after you complete all you can do in the general player vs player friendly area, you can go into what they call "the dark zone" here you will find tougher enemies but also able to get better gear. The trick to get the gear you pick up is that you have to call in a chopper to take it out as everything is contaminated. Now this takes over 1 minute to extract and if there is a bunch of PvP type players could be nearly impossible to extract for they will be killing you as you try to extract and therefore causing you to drop the picked up gear and dark zone currency. I know on the PC version people were complaining of hackers in the beta, I'm sure that could pass to consoles too. So basically if you've done everything in the player friendly area and there is nothing but people killing other players in the dark zone, this game becomes annoying and pointless. There is no single player to it, just as Tom Clancy's Siege had no single player. I don't know what Ubisoft is thinking going this way, but honestly its the same reason I didn't like Star Wars Battlefront (which had huge potential for me as a Star Wards fan). It had elements to be really good, but fell short for me based on MP required for advanced areas. It does look really good graphically though. Based on the overall map size with the areas beta players couldn't explore and how I saw missions and side missions set up, the overall fun experience would last a few hours, but if you wanted to grind for the best gear, it could take substantially more.

Overall decent fantasy type movie
on July 23, 2010

Depending on how well you actually like fantasy movies to if this one will hit the mark. Its a decent solid movie. Jason Statham is his usual self, Ron Pearlman, while I like him, seemed a bit miscast, not based on performance just based on what I would picture him normally to fit. Ray Liotta is always a wild card, for this one Liotta wasnt bad, somewhat questionable of why not pick someone more qualified to be a fantasy bad guy than him, but wasnt a huge miss either. Leelee Sobieski did wonderful for her role, personally I think she would have done better than the gal cast in LotR trilogy (Eowyn) in the same basic role she had here, just something about her. Now I must say Burt Reynolds as the king really? Out of all the actors out there to include those that have done "king" roles? Connery, for instance would have been a better fit, perhaps even WIliam Hurt. Matt Lillard was terrible!
What's great about it: Solid Fantasy movie, Jason Statham, Leelee Sobieski, Claire Forlani
What's not so great: Matthew Lillard, Burt Reynolds, the ending could have expanded a bit more

Grab a bike, become a prospect!

This series revolves around Jax Teller. His father John Teller and another veteran (Piney) formed a Motorcycle club (SAMCROW, SONS of ANARCHY) to feel the freedoms that they fought for and the government made them feel they lost upon return. John is dead and Jax's stepfather Clay now runs the club. As time progresses and Jax reads his fathers journal, he learns the path the club is leading. The club is in the fictional city of Charming CA and with help of some of the local and county law enforcement the Sons keep peace within Charming by any means. Watch the club go back and forth from good and bad times in and out of situations.
They handle thier issues their way and will deal with anyone that tries to expand or move on Charming including rival clubs (Myans (Mex) and 9ers (african americans)) or any agencies that try to break the club (FBI, ATF).
Sons is greatly cast with the right people for the right parts including Ron Perlman as Clay, Charlie Hunnam as Jax, and Katey Segal as Jax's mother Gemma. The supporting cast is just as great.
Sons of Anarchy Season 2 is on FX tuesday nights. To check out some episodes check out the Sons of Anarchy page on fxnetworks.com. The site has the last 3 episodes to view every week. Once you watch them Im sure you'll be buying this set!
Grab a bike and ride, just remember its all about the MC.
What's great about it: Entertaining, intriguing
What's not so great: Not enough episodes! =)

So excited

The beta was wonderful. The full version of the game is going to be even more awesome. DO NOT LISTEN TO PEOPLE that have only reviewed this game based off the Beta. The beta does not represent the full version in anyway.

Contradicting statement?
March 8, 2016
I personally love how this review states "DO NOT LISTEN TO PEOPLE that have only reviewed this game based off the Beta" when you stated this "The beta was wonderful. The full version of the game is going to be even more awesome" before that statement and the review was placed a couple days before the game released!

Now includes the 4v4 Ghost War PvP mode. In Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands, the Santa Blanca drug cartel has transformed the beautiful country of Bolivia into a perilous narco-state, leading to lawlessness, fear, and rampant violence. With their corrosive influence growing, the cartel is set to bring this entire country to ruin. But all hope is not lost. You and your elite team of Ghosts must infiltrate and destroy the deadly cartel to save Bolivia, and its people, from total collapse. Set in a massive open world, you have total freedom of choice; every decision made affects the world around you. You decide how to play.

Very poor game
By cleanshot
I have been playing the open beta of this game for the last 2 days and I am not impressed with it so far. It is a very repetitive game and you just do the same thing over and over again with no real structure at all. It is a large open world but other than that I felt like I was just playing a re-skinned Grand Theft Auto. There is nothing about the game that is exciting and none of the skills that you gain do much to help with the game play. At certain times in the game you run across the Unidad and the more of these you defeat the more that start to show up. This is just like Grand Theft Auto's wanted level and plays out exactly the same getting harder and harder until they take you out. There is absolutely no originality to the design of this game and I think the developers failed in a big way once again with the Ghost Recon name. I was torn over whether or not to try another Ghost Recon tittle and I am glad I got to try it out before I sank any money into another bad Ghost Recon title again. This is the third time in a row that Ghost has been a major disappointment and I will never even look at another Ghost game again. Ubisoft this was an epic fail on your part, letting someone develop a game that almost copies and existing game. If I wanted to play something like Grand Theft Auto I would just play that. I expected more out of this game but once again I got my hopes up and then they were crushed.

Ubisoft and their sandbox games
March 7, 2017
While I agree this game is nothing like the original predecessors, it does change the element to what Ubisoft continues to do with most of its games. Sandbox. Another words, the huge open world where you decide when, where, and how you want to play the game. Whether you want to go straight through the missions, explore around for awhile to get weapons/currency built first, whatever. Now does Ubisoft tend to do this a bit much with their games? Yes. Do they eventually get a bit boring especially when exploring to get items/currency built up? Yes. Are they the worst gaming company? Not by far IMHO. Their games have great graphics, usually are decently fun, for the most part the controls are fluid.
Now back to this game, While I was mainly just a fan of the R6 series of Tom Clancy games, I did play the beta of this game and thought that it was better than the original format of these games. I did not like the GRs of past, but then I'm a different type of gamer than some. (I tend to like open world and tactical shooters. R6 Siege is by far one of my favorites of this generation and its kept simple.) This game allows, from what I've seen, up to 4 player co-op, which replaces your AI team, but also allows the single player with AI game play. I have heard that with AI, it tends to be more difficult especially when you go down as they can only revive you once, but I have not experienced that myself. I do like the fact that I can choose how I want to attack the cartel as there are 4 stem trees that you can attack through to wreck havoc on the cartel again depending on how you want to take them down. Options are nice, but maybe for some, options can be confusing or difficult to make a decision on. Personally I'm waiting until this game hits the $30-40 price range (Gamers Club Unlocked) to pick up.
The following is a list of sandbox games by Ubisoft that I know of (have played): Assassins Creed series (since roughly Brotherhood, 1 and 2 were not fully open world, but did start the trend), Far Cry Series (4 and Primal), GR Wildlands, The Division, Watch Dogs (1 and 2), The Crew. Ubisoft does also offer the Ubisoft club for free, which also provides additional content/rewards for gamers who complete challenges within the games. For games like Siege, the ubisoft club offers extra weekly challenges for gamers to gain bonus renown (currency) or items for their guns (bling).
One thing about Ubisoft that I enjoy, the games have great graphics. While sometimes they are the same re-skinned to the game franchise, they still have enough difference to not be the same. They are also mostly entertaining and fun.
The one thing I dislike about Ubisoft, is customer support. When they have challenges with games, it sometimes takes forever to get them fixed. This includes server challenges or challenges with actual challenges within the Ubisoft club to gain those rewards mentioned. When you submit a ticket, you don't always get a response in a timely manner either. I put in a ticket 4 days ago and have heard nothing back.

widescreen dubbed

I was going to purchase sherlock holmes in blu ray, but it say's " Sherlock Holmes -Widescreen Dubbed" What does this mean? Is it in English?
Widescreen basically just means instead of full screen picture (less actual view) that you will have the 2 black areas, one above and one below the movie, but it ends of showing more of the background areas as its panned out. It would still be in english unless the case specifically says only other languages.

i've been searching for a movie for years, and i can't seem to find it anywhere. how can i find this movie- Fortress?

This movie has Rachel Ward, Sean Garlick, and Rebecca Rigg in it. It was was made in 1985. It's about four men who kidnap a teacher and her students in the outback.
Its possible that since this was a made for tv movie that it was never made for dvd production and would be the reason you can't find it. Only a fraction of made for tv movies ever make it to dvd.

can i use any usb dongle or adapter for my samsung blu ray player

My blu ray player is interner connectable
From what I understand and checked in to for my samsung blu ray is that you need their brand name one, however notice to consumers, having a samsung blu ray and tv together with any-net or whatever it is seems to cause problems between the 2 items from my experience, others have mentioned that when updating samsung blu ray profiles they also have had problems w/ the players (not so much of an issue now, just something to consider).

Why so many titles that aren't sci-fi listed under sci-fi?

If I'm browsing sci-fi I want see sci-fi- not comedy (Coneheads) or horror (Dawn of the Dead) or animated family/kids movies (Quest for Camelot).
Get your categories straight and browsing time/titles would be cut in half.
Most movies anymore fall under 2 or more categories based on what the movie is about. Some action movies are also thrillers, some sci-fi are also action (for example resident evil is Sci-fi, horror, and action). Coneheads is considered sci-fi/comedy based on the fact that the conehead family were from another planet and travelled to earth (which you see them go back and forth at one point in the movie), that qualified as sci-fi. Its like saying MiB or some of those don't belong if you say Coneheads doesnt. Dawn of the dead technically is sci-fi/horror based on paranormal events, all zombie movies that I have ever seen have all been partially listed as sci-fi for this reason. Quest for camelot I have not seen and therefore can't comment on that one.
