Great UHD BD player
on March 13, 2017

An excellent UHD BD player for the price. Better picture quality than the Samsung K8500 has. Sony hit a home run with the player. Unlike some other newer models, I've yet to run into any playback issues with UHD BDs, 2D BDs, 3D BDs, SACDs, or DVD-A discs. They have all played without issue.

Excellent product for clean air
on December 16, 2016

Works great for cleaning the air and is nice and quiet. And unlike the earlier model, it has a pre-filter to catch the larger particles. And the pre-filter can easily be vacuumed or washed. It is also relatively small and unobtrusive.
Power wise it uses little power on the slower speeds. On the slowest fan speed it only uses 5.5 watts. On the second fan speed setting it uses 8.3 watts. On the third fan speed setting it uses only 11.5 watts. On the highest fan speed setting, Turbo Mode, it uses 66 watts and can quickly clean the air in the room when needed.
It's also nice and quiet on the two lowest speed settings. And can be in a bedroom without the worry of preventing someone from getting to sleep.

Build or modify your own PC:Yes
Level of Expertise:Expert
Primary reason for building/modifying PC:Hobbiest
I installed it in a PCI express slot in a few seconds. Installation was quick and easy.I am using this with a Windows 8 Machine. Windows 8 automatically installed the drivers that were needed and it was ready to go in a minute. I could only test it with a portable USB 3.0 drive but I got 110MB/s(880Mb/s) transfer rates to/from the external USB 3.0 powered hard drive. Which is three times faster than what I get with a USB 2.0 connection with the drive.
What's great about it: Fast speeds and Plug and Play
What's not so great: The price

Works great and a great price at BestBuy

It allows you to easily see your energy consumption. Plus you can enter your local electricity rates and it will show you your monthly and yearly cost.
And unlike some other energy monitors, the display doesn't need to be near the power cord. It is attached with a cable that you can place that makes it easy to read the info.
What's great about it: Low price, display can be placed six feet away from power cord
What's not so great: No internal battery backup

Looks good on paper, but not so much in reality
By SolidWoW from Rock Hill, SC
I bought this computer thinking it was a steal. And it was, for Best Buy. What is not mentioned in the description is the fact that there is no recovery software. This means that when Windows crashes, and it will, you have to bring the computer back to the store to have the OS reinstalled.

The Recovery info is there.
July 2, 2013
You need to create the recovery media. Either on a USB flash drive or on some DVDs. Just like there is no point in having a paper manual, there is no point to include recovery media since you can make them yourself. You can only do it once though. So once you crate the recovery media you need to put it in a safe spot.

Battery doesn't hold a charge
By samsung
Samsung Tab S is a great tablet provided there is a nearby power source. The battery will charge to 100% and then discharge after a day or two when not in use. It will then take 72+ hours to get a 100% back on the tablet

My TAB s 10.5 lasts 8 to 12 days when not used much. And will fully charge over night when the battery level is close to zero.

Sony & Best Buy need to Listen
By SAMSONY
I have bought this TV on 11/22/15 from local bestbuy. Overall I am satisified with the service but very disappointed with both SONY and BESTBUY for not having the 3D glasses and no body knows which glasses are compatible. Called BESTBUY to buy the 3D glasses they said buy directly from SONY. (strange they are selling TV but not the 3D glasses) Called SONY 2-3 times, they told me to buy from their recommended site and they don't have the glasses. I still don't have the glasses. Total time waste = 4-5 hours.
SONY need to know if they SELL one 3D TV, then they need to produce x 4-5 times 3D GLASSES.

This film was not finished in 4k.
By JarekZabczynski
Many recent UHD Bluray titles will be unconverted from 2k masters and won't actually be 4k. This is simply because many recent films shot digitally were not shot at 4k or above resolution but only 2k. Even many films that have been shot on true 4k or even film, only had visual effects and post production done at 2k. Fox Home Entertainment has already admitted that The Martian 4k release is being made from 2k assets.
https://twitter.com/FinnJ/status/686724096059559937
The Martian does not currently exist in 4k, stick with the 1080p version for now.
Please do your homework before purchasing "4k" Blurays.

incorrect
January 14, 2016
This is not being upconverted from the 2K Digital Intermediate. It is being created with the 5k raw footage for the live action shots. And the FX is being upscaled from 2K to 4K. And this is not realtime upscaling like is done in a TV.

Do you recommend netbooks for online college courses?

As long as the smaller screen doesn't cause your eyes any problems looking at it for extended periods of time.
