Good Player

Sony changed the interface for 2015, no more Xbar. You pick your favorite apps. I have owned several Sony Blu- ray players over the years and this player has a great picture and gets decent Wi-Fi reception.
Now the bad:
The interface is slow when navigating through the interface, this is really apparent in Setup. My previous Sony's that had the Xbar never did this.
The front door that hides the tray is flimsy, not sure how long it will last.
The 3500 only has the Pandora app, where's iHeart and Slacker?! The 2014 model had iHeart and Slacker.
You have to buy a new player every three years because YouTube and Netflix keep changing their API, this isn't Sony's fault but it would be nice if they gave a free upgrade.
When you hit the "Favorites" button on the remote it takes you to Netflix, it already has a "Netflix" button. What's up with that Sony?
The 3500 is a step backwards compared to last years model.

Great TV For The Bedroom
on April 3, 2015

Insignia makes two 32" 1080p TV's, this is the better one because it sits higher(you can place your DVD player in front) and it has a VGA port to use as a PC monitor. The audio is not great with the factory setting but if you boost the bass to 80-100 it's not so "tinny" sounding. This TV supports 24p and the overscan can be turned off so you can see your DVD's and Blu-rays in all their glory. I played around with the picture settings using my calibration disc and found these settings look best:
Aspect ratio: Auto or Normal
Custom Picture
Brightness: 49
Contrast: 59
Color: 45
Tint: -3R
Go to Advanced Settings and turn everything off and set color to medium.
Get yourself a piece of electrical tape and put it over the red standby light, it's like a laser beam in the dark.

The Real VH Is Back!
on February 8, 2012
Posted by: Cameradude2008

Sammy and Michael are gone but David Lee Roth is back, this album sounds like it was released in 1980. No sappy ballads or covers like Diver Down had, only hard rocking songs.
What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: It took 28 years to bring DLR back.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best Non-Amplified Antenna
on December 9, 2010
Posted by: Cameradude2008

I have tried many non-amplified antennas and this is the best! It pulled in all the local stations, most of the channels now get at least 90% signal strength. The price also can't be beat. One star off because the base is wobbly.
What's great about it: Signal strength, price
What's not so great: Base

Where are the 300+ apps?

The description for this player on multiple websites says it has 300+ apps. Mine does not have 300+ apps that I can find. Where are the 300+ apps?
300+ streaming apps: Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video & more - on Amazon.com
Connect to the Internet - To access more than 300 apps, including Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, PlayStation Now, Pandora and more. - Bestbuy.com
300+ streaming apps1: Netflix®, YouTube®, Hulu Plus™, Amazon Instant Video & more - sony.com
There are only about 100 basic apps, you have to go to the Opera Store to get more apps.
