Nice keyboard keys, annoying backlight

When you drive at night and scan your eyes from side to side, are you bothered by the strobing (flashing) of the LED taillights on the cars ahead of you? Do you see a line of red dots, not a taillight that is on continuously? If you answered "yes" to these questions this keyboard is probably not for you.
I wanted to like this keyboard. I used it for two weeks. The keys themselves are very good, I like them.
The key backlighting, though, drove me crazy. The lights are multiplexed (or something) so the light for each key is not on 100% of the time. It is on for a short time and then off for a time. When my eyes scanned from one side of the keyboard to the other I would see each key multiple times, each time in a different position, overlapping the images of other keys -- alphabet soup. I found this very annoying to the point that the backlighting was a negative, not a positive. Since I got the keyboard because I wanted keys that were always backlit, well, I returned it.
From my experience not everyone has this problem with strobing lights. If you are not bothered by the LED taillights at night this keyboard would probably be fine for you.

I got this to connect a new SSD into my PC. What can I say, it works. I was a little disappointed that it is only rated at 3Gb/s but it was the only cable my local BB had. I ended up using my existing cable on the SSD and put this one on the HDD, it works fine there. The straight end connector is a tad too wide to fit next to the power connector on the drive (Say what!?! I thought these were standardized.) and I had to file it down.

The HDD in my wife's PC died, I decided to replace it with an SSD. Installation was easy using an SSD to 3.5" mounting kit I also got at Best Buy. I did a clean install of Win10, no problems. Boot time is noticeably quicker! I'm happy so far and hope reliability will be good.

This item has a place to mount an SSD to it, then it can be mounted into a 3.5" drive bay. All needed screws are included. It worked great for me installing the drive internal to the case..
I don't know if it would work for an HDD slot where the drive just slides in, as some PCs have. I do not know if an SSD mounted in this plate has its connectors in the same physical location that those of a 3.5" HDD are.

I have been using this laptop for 6 weeks now and really like it. The display is fantastic! I love the high resolution. So far battery life looks great.
Some folks have commented on a high-pitched fan noise, but I have not noticed it. The fan runs less than that of my older laptop and is quieter.
I like that there are no vents on the case bottom, air enters and leaves at the hinge. That means you can actually set it in your lap without worries of blocking the cooling vents. :-)
This is my first laptop with a touch screen. I used to think a touch screen on a laptop was silly but find I use it whenever I am scrolling, it is much easier than scrolling using a touchpad. And the touchpad is no slouch, either, it is a great touchpad.
Something to consider if you are coming from a laptop that has a plastic case -- the metal case sucks the heat from your palms if you rest them on it while typing. I find this to be a very minor annoyance, though. It encourages good typing posture, eh? ;-)
I am OK with the AC adapter using USB-C, but wish the real USB-C connector was not right next to the power USB-C connector. I sometimes confuse them. No harm done, just some head scratching, "Why won't the external display work? ... Oh, plugged it into the power USB-C again."
All in all a great laptop, but pricey.

After purchasing a Yoga 910 I found one of these sleeves on the "open box, closeout" table for 70% off and decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did -- although made for the 900 it also fits the 910. It is well made and should offer good protection, but as others have noted it is just a sleeve, no handle nor room for accessories like a charger or VGA adapter.

Yes the Alta can be removed from its band. I don't know if it would stay attached to your belt strap or even how well it would detect steps given that it is intended to be worn on a wrist.

Can the mouse be used with a Logitech Unifying Receiver? Or is Bluetooth the only way to connect the mouse aside from the USB cable? Also, can the battery be replaced?
Yes, the MX Master uses a unifying receiver. In fact it can use up to three unifying receivers, with a button on the bottom you can use to select which of the three PCs the mouse will be paired with. Since my keyboard already uses a unifying receiver I put the unifying receiver that came with the mouse in my laptop and now I can use the MX Master with either my desktop or my laptop at the press of a button. :-)
As for the battery, I fear it is non-replaceable. You would have to peel off the slick pads on the bottom of the mouse to open the case, I doubt they would go back on quite right when you are done changing the battery. :-(
