Nebraska might be the saddest, most contemplative picture filmmaker Alexander Payne has ever made; it's certainly not for all viewers. Pity the Blu-ray is almost bare-bones (although the AV stats are great).
Paul Greengrass' 2013 docudrama is ridiculously underrated; it might be better than his 2006 thriller United 93, and Tom Hanks gives one of his 3 or 4 best performances. The Blu-ray, too, faithfully serves this story.
There are few summer blockbusters more engaging than this one; the film just works, even almost twenty years later. The Blu-ray, however, leaves a little to be desired - it's missing special features from Fox's previous "Five-Star" edition.
One of those so-bad-it's-good blockbusters; little in Trans4mers makes sense on a moment-to-moment basis, and the characters are shockingly unsympathetic. That said, the Blu-ray is phenomenal, with excellent AV quality and loads of substantive features.
This is such a bleak, raw thriller; if it weren't for the performances of the stellar cast, the film would be too hard to watch. The Blu-ray is a little light on features, but it looks and sounds incredible.
Michael Myers comes home with this 15 disc limited edition release featuring every film in the seminal slasher series (including the two Rob Zombie films). Additional features include the rarely-seen television cut of the original John Carpenter classic, the network TV cut of Halloween II, the legendary "Producer's Cut" of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, and "Unrated" versions of Rob Zombie's Halloween and Rob Zombie's Halloween II. A limited edition 40-page book featuring an essay by Fangoria's Michael Gingold and bonus materials for each film are also included.
The Halloween series is one of horror's most fascinating, frustrating franchises, and this Blu-ray box set gives it the royal treatment. One of the year's best home-media releases.
The Birdcage is one of the funniest movies ever made; outside of the classic Marx Brothers movies, it's rare to find a comedy where all of the main characters jockey successfully for the title of Biggest Scene-Stealer. The Blu-ray, however, is so disappointing - we get a trailer and little else.

That Good Will Hunting still holds up is somewhat of a minor miracle. Although Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have moved on to bigger things, their work here isn't just a calling card: it's heartfelt and moving. Robin Williams is particularly good.
