I have the big release of this on HD-DVD in the special edition briefcase packaging but HD-DVD's don't last as long as DVD's or Blu-ray and when I played my HD-DVD the other day, it froze about half way in so I saw this on sale and it was a perfect replacement for the Final Cut in my other format, now I can watch it again! If you're looking for just the Final Cut, then this may be a good deal for you.

I thought this would be more involved in the Marvel universe but it was actually more a film of character development. Good but not what I expected, I'm sure the sequel will be better. Good audio and video quality, plenty of extras, worth it if you find it on sale. I'm recommending it for the completist.

I had a pair of 6" Alpine speakers and always thought they sounded "thin", no realism, sorry Alpine. I was in BB one day and stopped in the car audio "department", the set up was actually working so I tested like eight different speakers (four different brands including Kicker) and these JBL's sounded the best, and they were on sale, and they matched their own .com price so I got them even cheaper. Replaced them in my hot rod and they sound way better, well worth the swap. Take a listen and you'll see too.

I don't review the movie, we already know what the movie is about, I'm reviewing the blu-ray release. The movie is fun and two hours goes by quick, the audio and video are near perfect, not quite reference quality but real close. The awesome soundtrack really comes through in 7.4 surround sound and the bass is powerful without being boomy. Great use of the surrounds. Loaded with extras too, just wish new release prices weren't through the roof, I waited until this went on sale, like I do all new releases now...

Can this play Blu-ray discs from Region B as well as A.
No, all BD players in the US are region A only, it is a requirement of the BD association. You can purchase a region free version on-line for about $139 and it will still be covered by the warranty though.

Will this player play BD-R BDMV disc's?

I haven't tried it on this model but most, if not all, newer Sony BD players should play all formats. You can also look up their manual online for confirmation.
