So uh....I kinda love this thing!

I'll start by stating that I always wanted to try out a Surface Pro device, but the previous models had too small of a screen and no wireless AC band compatibility. So when I saw the Surface Pro 3 announcement featuring a bigger screen, wireless AC compatibility, and a far more flexible kickstand, I thought now was the time I could jump in and if I found it wasn't for me, I was going to return it promptly.
Now, I know MS was advertising this as a laptop replacement, but I didn't necessarily believe this would be true; however, I can say that it has definitely replaced mine and I've already given it away to a family member. I'll qualify this by stating that I was technically using an ultrabook versus a full-on laptop, but it was one of the most well reviewed and popular Win8 ultrabooks so it definitely was no slouch.
That being said however, I must admit that I was shocked to find how much faster the Surface Pro 3 was than the ultrabook even though the ultrabook had an i7 processor and 8GB of RAM versus the i5 processor and 8GB of RAM that I have on the Pro. But the biggest shock was the VERY noticeable difference in the feel of the touchscreen on the Pro versus the ultrabook. Again, I must state that the ultrabook was a top-tier device with a very solid build quality. So much so that I don't want to name it here because I don't want people not to buy it because they believe it to be a bad ultrabook. I absolutely loved it for the time I had it and it never gave me problems. BUT the touchscreen on the Pro is vastly superior than what I had on the ultrabook. It's smoother, faster, and more responsive, not to mention the much higher resolution on the Pro that makes everything pop. It's also incredibly lighter and thinner than my ultrabook which makes it insanely easy to be portable. For what I do mostly (lots of video/music streaming, numerous networking tasks, Internet surfing, and some productivity tasks# the battery is rock solid giving me about 7 hours of juice. I could get more by doing things like lowering the brightness when on battery, etc., but that's not my jam.
Everything in the Win8 environment works as you'd expect on a touchscreen device, but it feels more fluid on the Pro and it doesn't get nearly as hot as my ultrabook used to get after extended use. The most it will get on the Pro is warm, not hot. Like most though, the only two things that knock down my rating a bit are the price and the type cover. While I believe I know the reasoning for the price versus the specs on a comparable ultrabook #won't go into here#, it still hurts when that charge hits your wallet. The type cover, while it does do it's job of typing, I'm just not a fan of all the keys being on the same level as the base versus a collapsed base and raised keys. It's not a deal breaker or anything for me, but it's just not as comfortable as I'd like.
If you're used to the usage-case of an ultrabook, then I would 100% agree that the Pro can replace it #as long as you get the type cover as well). If you have a full-on laptop however with numerous extra ports, etc, then this may not work as a replacement for you, but it would be a solid companion or back-up device. I haven't missed my ultrabook at all with this Pro and am very pleased. I honestly didn't think I would like it as much as I do, but I'm sold on the Surface Pro 3!

Just happened to stumble on this one when searching for something new to watch and what a great buy this was! This has some of the funniest comedians out there. We're talking Cedric the Entertainer, Tommy Davidson, Dee-Ray Davis, Aries Spears, and Kevin Hart. Need I say more? I've watched this special several times now and have shown it to several friends and family and each time it's a solid hit! If you have a funny bone in your body, you have to pick this up.
What's great about it: The huge dose of very funny comedy

I'll be the first to admit that I slept on this movie when the trailers came out and simply never saw it. Oh how wrong I was! With everyone telling me how funny the movie was I figured I'd pick it up when it came out on Blu-Ray and this has turned out to be one of my best Blu-Ray purchases! I almost died from laughing so hard at this movie. I won't spoil anything, but let's just say there is one crazy event right after another that will have you laughing from beginning to end. If you're stomach isn't hurting by the end of this movie, then your sense of humor level is 0! Highly recommend and Alan in the movie is the man!
What's great about it: The unbelivable events that happen to these guys in just a couple of days!
What's not so great: Nothing

The first one was good, but this one is great

The first AC was good, but kinda static in nature. The second one has WAY more things to do and WAY more ways to do them. This version is bigger in every way. More missions, more weapons, new moves, and a much bigger story. My only knock is that sometimes the leaping controls will drive you crazy when you want to jump to some place close by and jump 50 feet somewhere else. Other than that though, compared to the first game, this is like Vegas on steroids. Highly recommend!
What's great about it: The many more missions, the new weapons, and the new moves
What's not so great: Sometimes, just sometimes, the leaping controls will drive you crazy

We bought this movie with the idea that it would be similar to the first one but taking it up a notch; However, this one was almost exactly like the first one. Put both movies side-by-side and you can't tell 'em apart. This one did have some better special effects and the jokes were a touch funnier, but outside of that it's pretty much the same thing. If you haven't seen the first one, then I'd recommend picking it up. Otherwise, you can get the first one and you won't really be missing anything.
What's great about it: Special effects and some comedic scenes/jokes
What's not so great: Very much like the 1st and a bit flat

Originally I was not going to by this game because I thought to myself, "Eh, it's just another Batman game. Who cares?" Then I heard all the buzz about how great it was and with there being a severe gaming drought at the time I figured I'd give it a try. Popped it in and I haven't been able to put it down! This is hands down the best Batman game ever made! Even if you're not a Batman fan though, you can still really get into this game because it's a ton of fun!
The graphics and the whole dark feel of the game is great. The characters are VERY well developed both graphically and vocally with the great voice talent. The MANY extras you can find as you play add another layer of challenges that will keep working your brain. And yes, Batman has his core gadgets in this game and they are great! The combat system could be tweeked a bit more, but the variety of stylish takedowns are insane! I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. All I'm trying to say is GET THIS GAME! You won't regret it.
What's great about it: Graphics, sound, detailed character development, story, gameplay
What's not so great: Combat system could be tweeked a bit more

A welcome surprise

I honestly thought I would be getting Prototype over this game, but after playing the Infamous demo I was sold. The game plays really well and the graphics are hot. The way you can climb and land on just about anything is sick and then the choice to play as good or bad is like the fudge topping. I've played both sides and it's so different on both that it's almost like getting too games for the price of one. The game isn't too short and takes a while to beat (like all open world games should be) and it's not just complete chaos. This is a really well put together game and I'd definitely recommend to anyone!
What's great about it: Graphics, story, action, powers, and character development
What's not so great: gas prices are WAY too high! (see image)

A shocking surprise

I slept on this movie for a while thinking it wasn't going to be worth watching, but I kept hearing that it was a pretty good movie so I finally broke down and picked it up and was pleasantly surprised. This really did turn out to be a good movie....definitely one of the better "scary" movies I've seen in a while because it puts you right in the mix of things. Because it's filmed like a documentary from one camera the entire time you don't get the standard girl falls down and can't seem to get up to run anymore or the predictable walking quietly in the dark and suddenly snatched up from an alternate angle. This was actually a well put together movie that draws you in and will make even the seasoned scary movie watcher jump several times. The acting is decent, the zombie thing isn't overdone, and the invention of fear is ill in this one. Would definitely recommend for the scary movie watcher!
What's great about it: An advertised scary movie that was actually scary
What's not so great: nothing really

Recently saw this movie on Blu-ray and it turned out to be better than I'd heard. It's much funnier than the 1st (even though that was good too) and had plenty of great characters that keep the movie moving the whole time. I don't want to give anything away, but this is a great family movie.
What's great about it: Funny, great picture/sound, and just all around good family watching
What's not so great: none

Flat out fun

Of course there's been a lot of comparison talk to this game and Grand Theft Auto and I for one was one of those who looked at Saints Row 2 as a gta wannabe. But after hearing about how much fun this game is and on many levels how it's better that gta4, I figured I'd give it a try to see what all the hype was about and too my surprise I found myself playing this game for several hours the first time before even putting it down. Simply put, it's flat out fun!
There's SO MUCH you can do in the way of customization from your character, to your crib, to your cloths, to your vehicles, and then some. Not only that, but you get rewarded for doing so. There's also a ton of insane activities to keep you busy for hours without even hitting the main story. This game also has A LOT of humor that keeps you rollin'. Honestly, if anything, gta4 was a bit too serious when compared with sr2 and really the only true similarities is that they're both open environment titles. They are truly two noticeably different games when you start playing them and it's apparent from the time you pick up the joystick. As an avid gta4 fan I must admit that sr2 is better in a number of ways and has definitely sold me. I'd definitely recommend to all!
What's great about it: Robust customization, sound track, graphics, humor, and tons of things to do
What's not so great: nothing

CAN'T GET PS3 TO WORK ON MY HUGHESNET INTERNET FOR GAMING

Unfortunately, the news won't be good for your situation. Hughesnet is a satellite ISP, which means that the signal has to travel all the way from earth to space and then back again. Because of this, there is a VERY noticeable lag time and you can't get "real-time online gaming". Basically, any game you try to play online on PS3, Xbox, or PC won't play correctly due to that lag time. If you're able to swich to a local ISP through DSL or cable high speed Internet, then you'll be good to go. Otherwise, with Hughesnet you're going to ge stuck with playing games offline. Sorry for the bad news.

Will Upconvert dvd player play blueray disk?

I have a visio 32 lcd hd 1080p tv and a upconvert dvd player. Will blue ray disk play on the player?
Unfortunately not. Upconvert DVD players can only upconvert regular DVDs to try and get close to HD quality resolution, but not 100%. For blu-ray discs playback, you'll need to buy a stand alone blu-ray player or Playstation 3. There's many stand alone blu-ray players for under $200 that play great nowa days. I recently purchased the Sony BDP-S360 blu-ray player on a really good sale and it plays both DVDs and blu-ray disc with no problems for well under $200.

should i get gh5 or lego rock band for my first game

I would definitely go with Guitar Hero 5 instead of Lego Rock Band. Even though Lego Rock Band isn't out yet, that whole line of Lego games just gets old fast. GH5 however is already out and has proven itself to be a very good game with high ratings all around. Don't forget that the Guitra Hero series also has a pretty good track record for fun downloadable content, which I can't say the same for those Lego games.
