The Ideal CCS to NACS Adapter for your Tesla!
on August 23, 2023
Posted by: TechGuy
With this CCS adapter, and assuming you have the J1772 adapter and mobile charger that came with your Tesla - your Tesla can charge literally anywhere! Superchargers, EVgo, EA, Chargepoint, etc.
Pros:
-Rated for any Level 3 Fast Charging Station and offers charging speeds up to 250kW or 250A. Meaning you'll only be limited by the power source or vehicle, not the adapter.
-Anti-theft lock.
-Dual temp safe switch, stops when adapter reaches 200F.
-Can operate and be stored in subzero weather.
-IP54 rated (water and dustproof).
-Easy to use, just plug and play.
-Snug fit and OEM quality - doesn't look or feel cheap.
-Comes with a nice case for storage.
Cons:
-Adapter is a bulky/heavy, but that is true of CCS chargers anyway.
-NACS will likely become the EV standard within the next decade so CCS might become less common over time (meaning you won't need to use this adapter in the future)
In The Box: Adapter, Travel Case, and Manual
Note: Make sure your Tesla vehicle is CCS enabled as older model years may not support this adapter even if it has the same NACS charge port.
1. Turn-on your vehicle and open system settings on the front touchscreen
2. Choose "Software" from the menu
3. Then, choose "Additional Vehicle Information"
4. Under Additional Vehicle Information, look for "CSS adapter support: Enabled"

Compact Water Flosser Ideal for Travelers
on April 2, 2023
Posted by: TechGuy
Note: This product isn't intended to replace the Waterpik counter-top or advanced series models. You may find the features, accessories, and experience to be less fulfilling than what is offered on those models. This model is targeted for users that want a Waterpik experience on the go (while traveling, at the gym, at a second home, at work, or have limited bathroom space for a larger Waterpik model).
In The Box:
- Cordless Water Flosser
- Three Water Flosser Tips (Classic Jet Tip for general use; Plaque Seeker Tip for general use and implants/crowns/bridges/retainers; Orthodontic Tip for general use and braces)
- One Travel Plug Tip (to prevent leakage during transport or storage)
- One USB-C to USB-A Cable (no block/plug provided)
- One User Guide
Pros:
- Compact, small footprint makes it ideal for people that want to have a water flosser on the go that they can keep in their travel or gym bag or at work. Also great for small bathrooms where counter or storage space isn't plentiful.
- Rechargeable battery via USB-C cable, no batteries needed. Can plug into laptop, car, wall outlet.
- Waterproof (can be used in the shower).
- Well built, feels sturdy in the hand. About the size of a large phone or medium sized flashlight.
- Smart design - the water reservoir slides out when you are ready to use and slides in when you are done and ready to store the water flosser.
- Truly cordless.
- Three pressure settings - low/medium/high.
- The Waterpik runs pretty quietly, with minimal noise.
- Easy to use right out of the box, just recommend letting it charge for a few hours before first use
- Reservoir is large enough (6 oz) to run for about 45 seconds, long enough to clean the mouth comfortably. The user guide does warn against using the flosser for 5 minutes in every two hour period. If you are someone that likes to use your Waterpik for more than a minute or two, I'd probably recommend a different model with a larger reservoir. Again - this model is for more compact/travel use. And reservoir is removable for cleaning.
- Tips are replaceable.
- My mouth does feel better and fresher/cleaner after use. I can see food particles in my sink after using it after a meal.
- Battery is rated for 23 minutes of total run time. Theoretically should only have to recharge after about 30 uses.
- Though they are not included - you can purchase the Toothbrush tip (to allow you to brush - with or w/o toothpaste - and waterfloss at the same time using the unit) and Tongue Cleaner tip as they are compatible with this model.
Cons:
The following two cons are not unique to this product or Waterpik, as they are cons for many modern electronics that are battery powered but should be noted in my opinion.
- One USB-C charging cable is provided, however no charging block or plug is provided. You will need to provide one of your own.
- No serviceable parts on the unit. I do worry about the long term ownership for this product as it is reliant on a rechargeable battery that cannot be replaced. What happens when the battery stops holding a charge after several years of use? Guess you just have to throw out the unit and get a new one.

Plug and Play and Go! Packed with Features!

A webcam that is definitely more than adequate for the average user. The ideal/targeted user of this webcam are professionals that like to show their work on their desk or around/behind them (teacher, designer, artist, architect, etc.).
Pros:
-Plug and play right out of the box, no installation or steps needed to get the webcam running on various video-conferencing platforms. Easy to use and get up and running.
-Love the built in privacy shutter. Just turn the round knob on the end like a chap stick to cover/open. Shutter is a different color so you can easily see when its down or up.
-Uses USB-C to connect to your PC (pro in that it is future proof), cable has plenty of length.
-Mounts easily and securely to top/back of monitor, comes with double sided tape to secure onto your monitor but I didn't feel like I needed to use it.
-Very sturdy magnetic connection keeps the webcam connected to the monitor mount.
-Show Mode! You can flip the camera to look straight down, and the image/feed auto-rotates on your PC. This is great if you want to write/draw something out on paper and want people to see or follow along. Ideal webcam if you are an artist, teacher, designer, etc.
-Can easily adjust the angle of the webcam up, down, left, right.
-Color, lighting, video is smooth and crystal clear. Lens has wide angle so can see quite a bit.
-Very compact and portable, easy to grab and go if you want to travel with this webcam.
-Not required or necessary but you can download an app that allows you to further tweak and adjust settings of the webcam to your liking (such as zoom out, etc.).
-Comes loaded with features (tracking/framing, zoom out, color/image resolution adjustments, etc.) that might be overwhelming to most average users.
-Up to 60 fps and 1080p support.
Cons:
-Uses USB-C to connect to your PC (con in that my current docking station has limited USB-C ports and most third-party USB-C to USB-A adapters don't support video delivery, but other reviewers seem to have no issues using an adapter)
-At first I thought my webcam was covered in white spots, looked like hard water residue, but turns out that's just the Graphite color/design of the webcam - thought that was weird.
-I feel like I need to use both hands when adjusting the webcam to Show Mode, not a quick or fluid adjustment that can be done with one hand.
Note: I used this on my monitor that is connected to a Windows PC. Tested on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.

Versatile, Effective, Multi-Functional Purifier
on October 28, 2022
Posted by: TechGuy
Setting used: in a 700 sq. ft. 1 bedroom apartment.
Unit is about knee high, easy to lift and move, and takes up a small amount of space.
Pros:
-Does all three jobs (heating, fan, and purifier) well. Air will be purified regardless of which of the 3 modes are used.
-At the lower fan/air speeds, the unit doesn't make a lot of noise, Doesn't disturb you if you were watching TV, reading, or speaking with someone.
-Remote has a built in cradle/holder at the top of the unit. Can leave the remote in the cradle and push buttons and it still works.
-Comes with a on/off timer (up to 12 hours at 1 hour increments)
-Info screen has 3 brightness settings (off/dark, low, bright)
-Info screen can show multiple screens of information (% air clean, time to clean air, temp, filter life, etc.)
-Comes with oscillating feature
-LED color ring indicates air quality (blue for good, yellow for ok, red for bad).
-I will say, I've noticed less dust around my apartment since I've been using this.
Cons:
-Utilizing the different modes/features is mostly dependent on remote. If you lose or break it, it would be difficult to operate the unit outside of powering on and off via the physical button on top (unless if you can get a replacement remote through Shark).
-Remote is hockey puck shaped. While it looks good, I found that it feels weird and slightly difficult to grip in your hand and push buttons.
-Shark advises that you need to keep minimum 3 ft of open space around the unit at all times. So its not meant to hug a wall or be put in a corner.
-The purified air comes out the rear vent while the heated air and fan come out of the front vent. The info screen is on the front of the unit.
-Would have like to see a handle or a place you could grip the unit that was built into it to make it easier to lift or carry.
-You have to physically turn the mode on the side of the unit if you want purifier or heat/fan. This cannot be changed via the remote. You have to turn the the knob to the mode you want first, and then you can adjust the settings via the remote (temp, air speed, etc.)
-No bluetooth/wifi connectivity or app or voice assistant built in

Versatile, Quick Laptop Built for a Mobile World
on July 14, 2022
Posted by: TechGuy
Target User Profile: Someone who needs a laptop that can multi-task and can be easily carried. Good for a basic gamer, or someone who does a decent amount of audio/video work, or a professional who works on several programs at the same time.
If you are looking for a laptop just to watch videos, browse the internet, and check emails, you wouldn't be using this laptop to its full potential. Therefore I'd recommend looking at a less powerful processor with less RAM.
Pros:
-Great build quality - feels solid in your hands
-Comes with built in webcam shutter/cover
-Minimalist design - thin bezel/border on screen, looks very sleek and premium
-Smaller footprint makes it easy to carry around. Fits perfectly in a small backpack without taking too much space
-Works quietly, no loud fan noise that makes it sounds like a plane about to takeoff
-Very fast - handles multiple programs, displays, peripherals without any loss in speed or efficiency. I hooked this laptop up to a wireless keyboard/mouse, USB headphones/mic, 2 monitors (1 via HDMI and 1 via USB-C), audio speaker system, and it worked flawlessly
-2-in-1 design - can be placed in a normal laptop form, tablet, tent, or stand
-Very thin design
-Comes with fingerprint reader
-Backlit keyboard
-Comes with 2 USB 3.2 Type C Ports and 1 USB 3.2 Type A Port and 1 HDMI port and 1 Headphone jack
Cons:
-A bit heavier than I anticipated, particularly for its size/footprint
-No optical drive or separate numeric keypad (though that would likely increase the size/profile of the laptop if it was included)

Long beard, medium, or short, Panasonic GB96-K Mens Beard Trimmer makes it easy for everyone from beginners to the more experienced to achieve barber-quality hair, beard and mustache trimmer styling at home. An acute-edge, ultra-sharp stainless-steel blade uses wider-tipped and spaced blades to catch more hair in one stroke for more efficient trimming. And, the electric beard trimmer is powered by a High-Torque motor, calibrated for clean, comfortable trimming of even dense beards, with no snagging or pulling. Four included comb attachments work the quick-adjust dial to provide up to 58 trim length settings from 0.5MM (with no attachment) to 30MM, to create the style and length you want while the 5mm-wide detail attachment provides precise trimming and control. The Panasonic GB96-k beard clipper has an IPX7 rating and waterproof design so you can trim in the shower or dry anytime. A single 1-hour charge provides up to 50 minutes of cordless use, or plug in and use corded for longer use. Unplug unit from electrical outlet when washing or using for wet trimming. To maintain peak performance, rinse blades under water after each use and replace blade every 3 years or when dull with replacement blade WER9620Y.

Versatile, Portable, Customizable for all Beards
on May 17, 2022
Posted by: TechGuy
A very versatile, portable, and customizable beard trimmer. A great addition to any man's personal grooming tool kit. Ideal for sculpting and trimming beards of all or to any lengths. You'll see that my cons are not really about the performance of the trimmer, but rather with some of the features or accessories.
Pros:
- Can basically trim beards to any length between 0.5mm and 30mm (at half and whole mm intervals - 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, etc.). Note that the 10.5mm and 20.5 mm specific trimming intervals are unavailable and the 0.5mm interval is only if you don't use any of the comb or detail attachments.
- Good build quality of trimmer. Feels solid in your hand and easy to maneuver. Good grip easy to hold.
- Trimmer, blade, and combs are washable and easy to clean. Just run under water and let dry. Can also use the included cleaning brush to clear hair. Though this trimmer is not meant to be used on a wet beard.
- Blade is removable.
- Able to trim precisely and through all types of hair. My hair is on the thick side and I have no issues using this trimmer. It has yet to clog or snag.
- The detail attachment is perfect for trying to trim in areas like around you lips or nostrils, as it basically covers half of the length of the blade so you do not accidentally trim unwanted areas trying to focus on other areas.
- Ability to use corded or cordless.
Cons:
- The travel case does not fit all the accessories and parts that came in the box. It would be nice if they included a secondary/larger storage case that can fit everything and/or a stand that also works as a charging base.
- A bit high maintenance. I find myself cleaning the trimmer after each use, but I do have thicker/darker beard hair.
- Blade can get hot to touch after being on/in use for several minutes.
- No visual cues to how much battery is remaining. User manual says that it can go 50 minutes on a full charge and it takes 1 hour to charge fully.
- AC Adapter seems to be a special/proprietary unit to this specific trimmer. Would have been nice if it used USB-C or some other common type of port.
Included in box:
-Trimmer
-3 Comb Attachments (Comb A: 1-10mm; Comb B: 11-20mm; Comb C: 21-30mm)
-Detail Trim Attachment
-AC Adapter
-Cleaning Brush
-Blade Oil (recommended to apply to blade prior to and after each use)
-Travel Pouch
-User Manual

Nest Cam with floodlight has built-in intelligence that can tell the difference between a person, a vehicle, and an animal. It alerts you when there’s important activity,* and lights up automatically so you can see what’s happening. With 24/7 live view and free event video history, you never miss a thing, day or night. Swap out your existing basic floodlight and use the same wires for power. Nest Cam with floodlight requires the Google Home app and a Google Account – it’s not compatible with the Nest app or the home.nest.com site.

Easy to Use and Loaded with Features
on October 12, 2021
Posted by: TechGuy
from Louisville, KY
I should start by saying I've been waiting for a Nest Floodlight + Camera product to hit the market for a long time. I installed a Nest Wired Doorbell Camera in 2018 and wanted to avoid having multiple brands and apps for smart cameras around my home. I was extremely disappointed after installing this floodlight camera as it does not work on the Nest app. It only works on the Google Home app, despite using the same Nest brand name. I dropped a star on my rating because of this.
However, the zone feature on this camera is awesome. You can draw the boundaries of zones in the app so you only get specific events that occur within the designated zone (such as motion, people, animals, vehicles). This way, you don't get a notification every time someone drives past or something happens across the street. I set up my zone so it only includes my yard and driveway. Installation is a breeze. Tons of other features and compatible with the Google ecosystem.
Pros:
- Super easy to install and set up. If you already have the proper wiring and junction box already in place, then the installation of this camera is quite simple. I'd recommend watching the official installation video on the Google Nest/Youtube website. All you need is a screwdriver and potentially a step ladder. It took me an hour from unboxing to power on, with 30 minutes of that spent on finding the right switch to turn off in my breaker box at the start and uninstalling the old floodlight, and I am not particularly handy.
- Well-built parts and components. Feels solid in my hand.
- No buttons or switches found on the floodlight or camera, everything is controlled via the Google Home app. My old floodlight required that I had to get up on a step ladder if I wanted to make any changes to the settings via the awkwardly placed buttons and switches.
- The camera and the floodlight are two separate pieces. Meaning if something goes bad with the camera or the floodlight, you don't have to trash the whole thing. Theoretically, you should be able to find another Nest camera or floodlight and reuse the working Nest camera or floodlight that you have.
- Takes up small footprint on my wall, slightly bigger than a junction box. Great if you are working with a tight space.
- The audio and video quality (save for the night vision) are pretty good.
- Wide angle lens (130 degree view), picks up my entire front yard, sidewalk, driveway, and about 3 and a half houses across the street.
- Camera has battery back up in case power goes out so it still records events.
- I don't really use Google Assistant or Nest Hub features or products but it seems to work with that.
- 2 way audio - you can speak to someone on the other end of the camera. The speaker is clear and the mic picks up any noise outside.
- The mounting plate cover is designed to be painted if you want to color match to your home or exterior.
- You can adjust the angle of each floodlight separately.
- No significant lag between notifications and opening the app. Takes a second or two to start loading the video once you click on the notification or open the live stream.
- The floodlight is fairly bright and illuminates all of my driveway and most of my yard.
- Love the zone feature, you can draw the boundaries of zones in the app so you only get specific events that occur within the designated zone (such as motion, people, animals, vehicles). This way, you don't get a notification every time someone drives past or something happens across the street. I set up the zone so it only includes my yard and driveway.
- Features and settings you can adjust on your Google Home app:
1. Brightness level of the floodlight
2. Manually turn on/off floodlight
3. What causes the floodlight to turn on (motion, when someone is live viewing the camera feed, camera events that are non-motion). You can also specify the motion sensitivity. The default is high (which I found too sensitive as it was picking up motion of cars driving by my house). Medium works well to pick up about 80% of my driveway and most of my front yard. I have a standard rectangular driveway where you can fit 4 cars on it (2x2).
4. Floodlight timer - how long the floodlight stays on (10 seconds, 30 seconds - default, 1 minute, 3 minute, 5 minutes).
5. Daylight sensor - how dark it gets out before the floodlight turns on (Darkest, Darker, Medium - default, Brighter).
6. Battery usage settings
7. Events settings - which events get recorded in your event video history, edit zones.
8. Video settings - video history, wake up sensitivity, max event length, video quality, night vision, status light brightness, rotate image 180 degrees.
9. Audio settings - mic, audio recording, camera volume.
Cons:
- Biggest disappointment is the lack of integration with the Nest app. This product is marketed and sold under the Nest name, but only works on the Google Home app. It does not work on the Nest app at all. This is frustrating as I already have a Nest Wired Doorbell Camera (from 2018) and thought that this would be a simple addition to my Nest app. Now I essentially have to use 2 apps for 2 different cameras on my home even though they are both Nest cameras.
- Does extend out about 8.5 inches from the base to the tip of the camera. Fortunately, the overhang of my roof extends out further so it covers the camera from the elements above.
- Would be cool if you could change the color of the light on the app. The light is a standard bright white/daylight color.
- The night vision on this camera is worse than the night vision on my Nest Wired Doorbell.
- This camera is rated to work in temperatures between -4F and +104F, if you live in an area with extreme temps keep that in mind.
- You do need a Nest Aware subscription in order to view event history up to 60 days and/or 24/7 continuous video history (the free non-subscription version is only up to 3 hours of event history).
- It does seem to be a bit more sensitive picking up motion in the designated zone at night from headlights, insects, and strong winds.
- The camera is connected to the floodlight by a power cord and by a really strong magnet. This makes it a little tougher to adjust the angle in my opinion compared to something you can just twist and turn.

Solid, Versatile, Durable Speaker
on June 16, 2021
Posted by: TechGuy
from Louisville, KY
This is a great speaker for those that would use it in more active or rough and tough situations. Ideal for those going to the pool or beach, camping or outdoors, or other activities where you will be taking a speaker in an environment where it could be subject to the elements. Good sound, though audiophiles may be a little disappointed, my assumption is that this product is targeted to a more general user that may be a bit rougher or more liberal with its use.
Size and Weight: 6.75” wide by 2” tall and 2” deep. It weighs 12.6 Ozs
Pros:
- Waterproof up to 1 meter/ 3ft. 3in under water for 30 minutes (IPX7 rating - note this means that there is no specified protection against solid particles such as dust)
- You can link several speakers together (they say over 100) using the PartyCast technology. This only allows you to play the same audio in sync across multiple speakers, not to pair as a stereo. I think PartyCast is only a feature with Anker Soundcore speaker models.
- Long battery life (20 hours on a single charge)
- Comes with USB-C cable and detachable strap
- Customizable EQ settings (via the Soundcore app)
- Simple design (brick shape) with large buttons on the top. Build quality feels good and strong to the touch, won't slip out of your hand.
- NFC enabled to easy pairing/connectivity
- Easy to set up/pair with device and use
- Easy to carry
- Has microphone that can be used for phone calls/conferencing. Worked just fine, no issues on either end.
Cons:
- Not as visually appealing or sleek as other speakers. Doesn't have colorful displays or anything like that
- Audiophiles may find the sound to be not as rich
- Need to download the Soundcore app for full customizable functionality (which is probably true for most mid to high end portable bluetooth speakers)
- The PartyCast technology does not have stereo pairing capabilities.

Powerful Monitor for Creators and Designers
on April 18, 2021
Posted by: TechGuy
from Louisville, KY
This monitor is clearly targeting professionals that are content creators. People who work in design, visual arts, engineering, architecture, arts, marketing, media, photography, or any other field where a visually capable display is of the utmost importance should take a look at this monitor.
Pros:
-This monitor can double as a hub/docking station (with the exception of ethernet and multi-monitor extensions that I mention later). I was able to connect my Dell laptop from work (standard corporate issued model) via USB-C to this monitor. The monitor's USB-C port supports power delivery (65 W), therefore it would keep my laptop powered and charged. I was also able to hook up my peripherals (wireless mouse and keyboard, external speakers, headset/microphone, wireless Qi charging pad for my phone, charger for my tablet) using the 3.5mm jack and the 4 USB-A ports located on the monitor. I was able to free up some space on my desk as a result - which is a huge pro in my mind.
-Ports include: 2 USB-A on the left side with the remaining ports on the bottom toward the left corner including 2 additional USB-A, 2 HDMIs, 1 DisplayPort, 1 USB-C (with 65 W power delivery, data transfer, and DisplayPort support), and 1 3.5mm. There is a power switch on the underside, in addition to the power button on the front of the monitor. I really like the multiple USB-A ports along the side and bottom.
-This monitor does include internal speakers which is nice, though it is nothing to write home about. It does the job and provides decent audio output.
-This monitor does include Blue Light filters (4 different settings), and several presets depending on which viewing mode you prefer.
-VESA mount capable.
-Ergonomic and versatile stand design. You can adjust the monitor height (0-150mm). It swivels +/-45 degrees. It can pivot +/-90 degrees so you can turn the monitor in landscape/horizontal or portrait/vertical mode. It can tilt +35/-5 degrees.
-Plethora of pre-sets and adjustable settings to customize your viewing and editing experience.
-Ability to add gridlines to lay over your screen (Options: A4, B5, Ruler, Alignment) in case you need to get detailed and precise when designing, editing, or creating something. In addition, there is a 60mm ruler etched into the bottom bezel.
-Color and backlighting is consistent and uniform throughout the screen. I've seen other monitors where the backlighting or color gets inconsistent particularly around the edges of the screen. Not the case on this monitor.

Cons:
-I'm probably asking for too much here as I am not sure any monitor has this, but it would be great if this monitor included an Ethernet port and/or the ability to connect a second monitor in order to extend displays. If it had both, it would truly replace a hub/docking station in my mind. I worked around this by using Wi-Fi (instead of ethernet) and connecting the second monitor directly to my laptop via HDMI (while connecting this monitor to my laptop via USB-C) in order replace the Dell hub/docking station I was using previously.
-I found the base/arm and the monitor itself to be a bit heavy. On the other hand, you could say its well built and pretty darn sturdy.
-The monitor won't wow you with its looks. At first glance, it looks like a basic early 2010s type of monitor. There is a small (probably 1/4 inch thick) black border that runs along the sides and top of the monitor). The bottom bezel has a matte black finish, with 6 square buttons towards the right corner with the far right one being the power button. One unique thing about the design - there is a 60mm ruler etched on the bottom bezel - just further emphasizing how this monitor is geared towards creators and designers. Other than that, nothing sleek or eye-catching about it - no edge to edge display.
-I may be in the minority here, but I think this monitor might be better served by including a small remote in order to take advantage of the multiple settings, sources, and features this monitor has. I found it kind of annoying that I had to use the buttons on the bottom bezel to cycle through and select/enable/disable/adjust different options. Particularly when I want to pull up the grid lines feature to appear on the screen (A4, B5, Ruler, and Alignment). Though you can program the buttons to be hot keys/shortcuts.
Notes:
-The screen on this monitor has a matte finish. I have other monitors that have more of a glass/glossy finish which can cause issues with glare from sunlight or other light in the room. The matte finish on this monitor really helps limit and reduce glare from sunlight or other light - keeping your focus on your monitor screen. Whether this is a pro or con depends on your personal preference.
-If you turn the monitor off, it will turn off power to the attached peripherals and connected laptop (if using USB-C). If you want to keep your laptop charged and your peripherals on, you will need to keep your monitor on. I wish they had a low-power/standby mode that still powered the connected peripherals when you are not using the monitor actively (or maybe it does go into a power saving type mode and I just can't tell or notice it).
-The colors, depth, and definition look great to me. I am probably not in Asus's targeted audience for this monitor but I have no complaints with how pictures, videos, spreadsheets, and text look on this monitor. I would think this monitor compares favorably with most high-level performance/professional monitors in this segment.
-It comes with DisplayPort, USB-C, HDMI, and power cables in the box, but it did not come with a user guide to learn about the different features. I had to go on Asus's website to view the user guide for this monitor.

Excellent Portable Adapter for Traveling
on January 12, 2021

Please note, this product isn't intended to be an alternative to a docking station (which I initially thought it was). This product is intended for those who travel or have temporary workstations. I only have a Dell laptop to use this with so I cannot confirm performance of this adapter with a non-Dell laptop.
This adapter has: 3 video ports (HDMI, VGA, and DisplayPort), 1 Ethernet port, 1 USB-C port, and 1 USB-A port.
Pros:
- Compact design. Similar to a smaller and lighter hockey puck. Perfect for those that travel for work or have floating workspaces.
- Retractable, integrated USB-C cable. Simply twist the top and bottom to retract or extend
- Plug and play ready. At least it was when connecting my Dell work laptop. This may vary depending on the brand or model of your laptop.
- Multiple video port options (HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA)
Cons:
- Only supports one external video display at a time. Meaning you cannot have 2 external monitors running through this adapter.
- No power pass through. You cannot charge or power your laptop using this adapter.
- The retractable USB-C cable contained within the adapter is short, about 4 inches, so you'll need to keep it close to all connected devices
- Really wish it had a 2nd USB-A port.
Product Notes:
a) When adapter is connected to a Thunderbolt or 15W USB-C (DisplayPort Alt-mode) port – two downstream USB-C and USB-A ports with USB3.1 Gen 2 file transfer rate of up
to 10 Gbps is supported.
b) When adapter is connected to a 7.5W USB-C (DisplayPort Alt-mode) port – only one of the two downstream USB-C and USB-A ports with USB2.0. file transfer rate up to 480
Mbps is supported on a 1st come 1st serve basis (the peripheral connected first to either the USB-C or USB-A port is supported)
