I really like this Dell XPS 8900 that came with Win10 installed. Was also surprised at how much I liked the feel of the keyboard. The mouse was great too but I just don't use a wired mouse. I was a little dismayed that after I checked out the Seagate HDD ST1000DM003 installed as it was reported to have a short life of about 3 yrs. I have never had a HD fail at less than 5 yrs. and I'm not expecting this one to have a short life either.
I did have a couple issues that appear to be Windows10 related but I think should be considered when Dell is setting up machines for users, things that may help others, but obviously not a consideration for the excellent STAR rating here. When I turned the surge protector on or plugged the CPU into a wall outlet, the CPU (and my portable backup drive) came on for 2 seconds and then shut off, every time. The first try at fixing was in the UEFI to check the box in power section to "'turn off" after power restored, which I thought meant it would not come on until I pushed the on button. Wrong. I then changed setting to "power on" when power comes back on. It worked. Now CPU comes on and stays on when switch is flipped on. I'm fine with that behavior vs. the original default behavior which would have put additional stress of startup/shutoff every day when turned on. The other minor issue was to get the Num Lock to come on B4 I entered my PW. Found plenty of help on the internet to change the settings in registry and UEFI which solved that.
So far, after 2 months of use I have had no trouble at all with the Dell XPS 8900 unit. Short startup 2-3 second noise and then really very pleasantly quiet! Everything else seems to be just fine. Will update if anything changes. This may be TMI for some readers, but I take great stock in and learn from most reviews by others and try to reciprocate.

I bought this Microsoft Mobile Mouse 4000 to replace another really nice MS mouse I had but it started requiring 2 batteries every other week.
This one fits my hand better, has the on/off switch, internal storage of the nano Wi-Fi USB, and only takes one AA battery. I do realize it is on the list of Microsoft Mice that has recently been reported as able to be hacked if someone is near you, but this is for my PC not for travel so I have no concern with that.

This is the first TN-660 that I purchased for my printer. It works well with quality printing. I make sure I "set continue mode" so it doesn't stop printing when it "thinks" it is empty. This alone helps you get the full number of page prints. (Accomplished this on old Brother printers by putting painters tape over the "eye" so it couldn't stop printing before it was used effectively to lighter print.)

I use this mostly in the garage but expect to use it on porches and inside when doing projects. I especially like that I was able to get the filter bags for finer dust particles #90671 for certain inside projects. The Shop Vac has good vacuum. I accidentally vacuumed up a long nylon cover to a golf umbrella, just pulled the hose from the unit, reached in two fingers and pulled it out. I can get into the tight corners behind the water heater, behind equipment, and into the corners in the ceiling with no problem. It rolls very easily. There is little room to try to fit all the attachments with the hose and cord wrapped around. I can fit them, but a pain. Better to just put them in a separate plastic box. Hoping this lasts a long time.

I purchased the Vizio 29" soundbar 1/21/15 and rec'd shortly after. I primarily got it to connect to my Grace Digital Mondo Internet Radio and to hook up to my TV. I wasn't sure if the TV would work with it because it is an 8-1/2 yr. old 37" Sharp Aquos HDTV, but it does have a digital optical out. I connected the Mondo with the RCA cables. Connected the TV with the digital optical out. Shut off speakers on TV. Mondo worked great (shut off Mondo speakers and changed to stereo). The TV, cable box and Blu-ray worked great through the TV digital optical out. Only problem was Amazon Fire TV box. It was connected to the TV with HDMI yet wouldn't play through the TV digital optical to the Vizio. I obtained a converter digital optical in/digital coaxial out, used the matching cables and connected to Vizio. Works beautifully. The soundbar is on pretty much on all day, Mondo daytime, other devices through TV at night. Couldn't be happier with this setup and sound. I did feel the digital optical cable supplied by Vizio was a little loose and thin and cut out at times. I replaced it with a more robust cable that fits perfectly and doesn't cut out at all. I am very happy with my purchase. Sorry if this review is too basic for some of you; but, I had to do a lot of research before I purchased this to understand how it would work (especially with the internet radio) and to actually get it to work with everything, so hope it helps someone else.

Solid Wi-Fi internet radio. I can listen to so many stations. My main deciding factors in buying this radio were: 1. I wanted Wi-Fi, not Bluetooth; and, 2. I needed to be able to, as a minimum, use online software to set up a Custom Windows Media Stream URL to be able to play a subscription I have for an internet radio station that I listen to all the time. I did this at "http://www.grace.reciva.com"
It works perfectly. East to set up and use. I have experimented with other stations too. Grace Digital also has Pandora, iHeart Radio and more right on the home screen on the radio to choose from. The sound is good, but I am looking into a couple wired powered speakers that will easily attach to the Audio Out on the radio so I can have a nicer stereo experience in the living room which can be heard from most other rooms. I've had this since 10/23/2014 and it is playing every day.

How is the sound connected?
I bought this Dell last week at Best Buy and cannot get sound; it keeps saying connect it--but how, and with what?
I just plugged in my speakers from my old PC and immediately had sound. If you already have a monitor with built-in speakers or another device attached that you want to hook up to, try right clicking on the speaker icon and go to "Sounds" and one of the tabs "Playback" will show you choices of available devices connected that you can click on. That is all the help I know to give. Hope it helps.
