Before Superunknown was released, Chris Cornell was a gifted songwriter who was limiting himself to one specific sound. Superunknown proved that Cornell is capable of writing songs with range, depth and meaning. Superunknown deserves its place in music history as one of the five best hard rock albums of all time.

Simply put: The Foo Fighters are the best rock band as of right now. Dave Grohl has spent the last 20 years proving that no other musician can write songs with the intelligence, the passion and the ability that he can. Sonic Highways takes its place among "The Colour and the Shape" and "Wasting Light" as one of the best Foo Fighters albums of all time.

There is only one U2. For the past 34 years, they have proven themselves to be the most humble and the most classy rock band of all time. This album ranks high in their body of work. With the exception of "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb", this is probably their best album.

This compilation album from The Who proves that Pete Townsend is clearly one of the top three songwriters in the history of rock. The only negative about the collection is that it leaves out a few of his best songs including "The Punk and the Godfather", "The Real Me" and "Did You Steal my Money?".

Most true Van Halen fans are also David Lee Roth fans. However, many of these fans are not familiar with a lot of Roth's solo work. While much of what he did as a solo artist doesn't rival Van Halen, there is a wealth of material which holds up well. Roth wisely enlisted several accomplished musicians to execute these songs. The results are often magnificent. The best songs include "Yankee Rose", "Ladies Night in Buffalo", "Big Trouble", "A Little Ain't Enough" and "It's Showtime!".
