Extremely well done, depicting the killing of 4 Americans in Libya. A tragedy that was totally avoidable had there been leadership in Washington. This film could have been political, but it's not.
Following the deadly Langley bombing that is blamed on disgraced congressman Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) and having helped him escape the U.S., Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is desperate to solve the case and clear Brody's name as the third season of the conspiracy thriller begins. But Carrie's efforts are threatened when she becomes the focus of a hostile Senate investigation led by Sen. Andrew Lockhart (Tracy Letts) who believes the CIA is covering up the truth about the attack. Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin), now CIA chief, also feels the heat of the probe and it begins to undermine his efforts to revive the Agency. Trouble also brews in the Brody household when Dana (Morgan Saylor) starts exhibiting destructive behavior and runs away from home. As for Brody, who has a $10 million bounty on his head, he begins to recuperate from a gunshot wound in Venezuela where he is held captive by armed gunmen in a ramshackle Caracas building called the Tower of David. With no passport, no money and no chance of escape, Brody slowly begins to realize that he may have to live out the rest of his days in this slum dwelling where Carrie has arranged for him to at least be safe.
Months after undergoing electroconvulsive therapy, Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is living a relatively peaceful life with her father and sister as the second season of the conspiracy thriller begins. But her mental health is threatened when she accepts a mission to return to Beirut and gather intelligence from the wife of a Hezbollah leader, a woman who once was one of Carrie's most valued sources. Carrie can't resist the possibility of bringing down terrorist Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban) and perhaps being reinstated at the CIA. In Washington, D.C., congressman Brody (Damian Lewis) is being groomed as a potential vice-presidential running mate, but Saul (Mandy Patinkin) makes an alarming discovery that puts a serious dent in Brody's plans. Trouble also brews in the Brody household when Brody's daughter Dana (Morgan Saylor) outs him as a Muslim to her mom Jessica (Morena Baccarin), who is enjoying life as the newest member of the Capitol's inner circle. Dana's life becomes even more complicated when she and the vice president's son inadvertently commit a crime while out on a joy ride. Throughout it all, Carrie is increasingly drawn to Brody, even though he is the willing pawn of the world's most feared terrorist.
