Replace the keyboard of your Microsoft Surface Pro 7, 6, 5 or 4 with this silver Brydge keyboard. It conveniently lets you open the screen at your preferred viewing angle without a kickstand, and its backlit keys increase visibility in low light working environments. This Brydge keyboard is lightweight, so it doesn't add extra bulk to your device.

Nice Keyboard, but dangerous if not used properly
on May 21, 2017
Posted by: GrizzlyD
Keyboard works well. Hinge is a good bit stiff and makes usage a little hard. You have to be very careful not to install this on a Surface Pro 3 without first changing out the shim. If you don't you will destroy your screen. It's a great idea, but I feel the hinge is far too binding and tight. It needs to be a lot smoother. If it were, it would put less pressure on the screen when opening/closing.

Good for kids or thin hair
on May 7, 2017
Posted by: GrizzlyD
Pros:
***Hair definitely didn't feel dried out or look parched.
***Left it very shiny and soft to the touch, too.
***On daughter's short, thin hair it added volume and lift
Cons:
---On my long, thick hair it took way too long to dry. After 20 minutes of blow drying on high my hair was still damp.
---While it looked shiny, it definitely wasn't smooth. Left with lots of little flyaways that would need to be straight ironed to get a sleek look.
---The vertical attachment did not provide any volume or lift to my thick hair. Certainly not the same results as my previous high end blow dryer.

Great big sound from a small speaker
on April 3, 2017
Posted by: GrizzlyD
It's a Bose bluetooth speaker. It looks a lot like a Google home, but completely lacks the assistant like functionality. This is simply a speaker and nothing more. It has a 3.5mm analog stereo input on it for connecting a source (I might recommend a chromecast audio device for instance). It comes with a power adapter and micro-usb cord for charging. Sold separately is the charging cradle that enables you to charge it quickly by placing it on top of the cradle.
First, the sound quality is exceptional. It produces a really big sound for such a tiny device. And it's quite capable of filling a very large space. I tried it out in my living room which has 20 ft high ceilings and it did masterfully. I later tried it in my 2400 sq ft office space and it did very well there as well. The bass response is merely ok, but the range of mids and highs is quite good. The sound produced by this device is far superior to any other portable home speaker of this size.
The Bose connect app is a giant piece of garbage right now. It is in need of major work. During the install phase you're expected to use the app. It failed and I wound up simply using my phone to connect to it by bluetooth. After that the app seemed to connect no problem. However, the app seems to be incapable of adjusting the audio or controlling what is playing on the revolve. Right now, the app has no value whatsoever and is in major need of work.
This speaker's audio prowess combined with the power of Goggle Home or Amazon Alexa would be amazing! However, this is merely a speaker. Perhaps at some point we'll be able to cast to it or put it in the Google Home setup, but I doubt it. It seems to be limited to bluetooth alone, which means no casting as it lacks WiFi. This is something you could remedy with a Chromecast audio connected to it. That would turn this little speaker into quite a useful product. That being said I can only imagine the price tag on this device making you second guess the purchase just to have to perform all those shims to get what you really want in the end.
If you're looking for a bluetooth only speaker with big sounds I would say go for it. If you need more take a pass.
One last note: your phone will view this as a bluetooth audio device and as such will prompt you for audio notifications and all the little beeps and boinks that your phone produces while you're attempting to play music. That get's big time old in a hurry.

Keep your SoundLink Revolve or Revolve+ Bluetooth speaker charged and ready to go, with the SoundLink Revolve charging dock. It’s a convenient home base for your speaker, and you can play your music while it charges. Just plug the wall charger included with your speaker into the cradle. Available in Black.

It charges
on April 3, 2017
Posted by: GrizzlyD
It's a small disc that charges the Revolve. It doesn't come with it's own power source. You'll have to have the power adapter that comes with the revolve. It makes charging a breeze, but I certainly hope it doesn't cost a lot extra. I feel like this is something that should have just been packaged with the revolve already. If you don't have this you will have to take the time to plug in the micro usb connector. This just enables you to easily place the revolve on it for charging.

Great suction, surprisingly light
on March 22, 2017
Posted by: GrizzlyD
Dyson vacuums are usually quite good and this was no exception. The V8 is really good: incredible suction, lightweight, relatively quiet, and reasonable battery life. The attachments are functional and proved useful in removing dust from couch cushions, miniblinds, and furniture/artworks hanging on walls and high places.
My only con is having to hold the trigger while using it. I'd have preferred a single action switch.
Great vacuum, highly recommend.

Great fit and nice sound
on January 29, 2017
Posted by: GrizzlyD
I was pretty excited to give these headphones a try. Up until now I've had your pretty run of the mill wired headphones, and even was recently using the plantronics backbeat fit headphones. They were all just ok. Either the cord got in the way or they were uncomfortable to wear, with just mediocre audio quality.
These Jbl UA headphones are actually quite nice. They seem to be made of rather high quality materials. The packaging is good, but the instructions are rather so-so. Nevertheless, they come with about 4 different size adjusters to make fitting a breeze for all. Connecting it to your phone is a piece of cake and they seem to do a good job at staying connected. Once fitted they don't move at all and stay right in your ear regardless of level of activity.
The sound quality is quite good and is just loud enough to drown out the terrible music they play at your gym. Battery life seems to be quite positive in that it will last a long time on a charge.
The heart rate monitor seems to be very accurate, much more so than some of my other fitness bands on my wrist. My only real complaint so far with regards to the heart rate monitor is that it seems to only connect to UA record. It advertises that it works with all the other UA apps like endomondo and myfitnesspal, but inside of those apps I'm not seeing a way to connect it as a hr source. I'm already using Microsoft Health, and have used Google Fit and MyFitnessPal in the past...I wish these services would work out a relationship so I don't feel like I'm abandoning one for the other. They tend to share data, but each new device I get wants me to use their own app exclusively.
I think these headphones are great and are well worth a look. I would highly recommend them to someone wanting to get their hands on a good pair of headphones that won't fall out, are wireless, have good battery life, and offer a hr monitor.

Meant for WiFi novices
on January 13, 2017
Posted by: GrizzlyD
I'm going to try and remain positive in this review. Essentially I didn't like the device at all. But I'm not the target audience. The target audience is for those who have little interest in being engineers and simply want to plug'n'play. Unfortunately for me I simply wasn't able to just plug'n'play.
From an engineering perspective this is simply a wonderful idea. One SSID, multiple devices building a mesh enabling your tablets, phones, etc to easily jump from point to point as needed with zero consumer involvement. Who wouldn't want something like this??
It took me quite some time to get the first node up. I went through the Linksys app of connecting and disconnecting routers and so on. I had to reset the node multiple times as it would keep failing to connect on the first, second, and even third pass through. I decided I needed a little break and opted to pick up where I left off in the morning. The next day it fired up immediately with no problems. Who knows what the deal was the night before. Once I got the first node online so easily I thought "this is going to be smooth sailing". Boy was I wrong. I went into the adjacent room and placed another node in the kitchen about 35 feet away. The app informed me this wasn't close enough. I then moved the node to the arch between my kitchen and living room, which was approximately 25 feet from the first node and it too wasn't close enough.
It was at this point I decided to pause on adding more nodes and simply test the functionality and features of the router itself. It's armed with the most basic feature set. There's no way to alter your IP configuration that DHCP uses. I hope you like using 192.168.1.x. There's no way to set up a dynamic DNS service. There's no way to use a service like OpenDNS rather than your ISP. Put simply, all the advanced functionality is stripped out and you're left with a device that is made for entry level consumers who simply want to turn it on and walk away. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. There are scores of consumers who want this sort of technology. It's simply not for me. I have far too many advanced needs in my home network.
To conclude. I'm uncertain why I was being given such a hard time with connecting the nodes. One would think 25 feet would be no problem. Nevertheless, I've heard of others who had no trouble whatsoever getting it to work at that distance. I have a lot of WiFi interference around me so it's possible that was a culprit. I think this would be a great device for those who simply want to turn it on and have it work. It's ideal for those in really large homes. No 2000 sq ft home is really going to need a device like this. If we're talking about much larger multi-story or basement type homes then I could see this being a huge benefit. As of now, I am not recommending this to my tech savvy friends.

Great Blender
on December 26, 2016
Posted by: GrizzlyD
This things blends well. I've made a few smoothies with it. I like the presets that allow you to just put in the ingredients and hit go rather than having to press the buttons over and over. It seemed to do a real good job of chopping up frozen fruit. Appears to have a lot of good power and it came with several cups for blending and travel. It had some attachments for doing dough and such as well. Seems to be of good construction and I expect it will hold up to heavy use. Looking forward to many smoothies in my future.

A solid all-purpose trimmer
on November 18, 2016
Posted by: GrizzlyD
There's not much to say about this trimmer. It does a great job of cutting and the multitude of attachments are nice. Like all previous models in the Multigroom series it has good long battery life and the blades seem to stay sharp for years. I'd say for the price it's a little annoying they don't include a cleaning brush or eyebrow guide. It's entirely too loud for using on the ears. My previous multigroom was much quieter. That being said it only seems to be loud up close, not across the room. Be careful with the "stubble comb"...it tends to cut really close if you don't hold it at just the right angle.

Good, not Great...yet
on November 4, 2016
Posted by: GrizzlyD
I recently acquired the Google Home device. I was quite excited to give it a try as I’ve been a user of Amazon’s Echo since its release. Echo has grown a lot over its lifecycle and yet I still found myself wanting a few features I felt it lacked. Google Home represented some competition to Amazon’s platform that could spur the needed change for both platforms to stay competitive. How does Google Home stack up?
Music – This is where the Google Home hit probably my number one feature request of Echo, access to Google Play Music. I’ve been a subscriber of the service for some time and appreciate the ability to select any song or album I want to stream from my phone or car, but what about at home when I’m cooking dinner? Echo was limited to Amazon’s library or a few other streaming services, but for an ad free experience with access to my most frequently used service I was out of luck.
Google Home supports Google Play, YouTube Music, Pandora and Spotify out of the box. This is a good start and I imagine there’s more to come in the future.
Google Assistant – Google Home does a great job of integrating all the information it knows about you, and brings that information to the surface. What's the weather? Hows the traffic to work? Your favorite news sources? You can get pretty much anything you want like weather, traffic, finance, sports, and more. If you’re already embedded in the Android ecosystem on your phone then the quality of the data coming back from the Assistant will be even better.
Alarms, Task Mgmt, Shopping Lists -- These are all features that are self-explanatory. If you use Google email it does a good job of knowing things like flight data and appointments based on your calendar.
Home Automation -- This is a place where I feel it’s got some room to grow. Google Home currently only supports Nest, Hue, and SmartThings. For instance, I use an Ecobee3 for my thermostats and therefore cannot control them with the Google Home, yet. Amazon Echo, being more mature, has this capability. This is a feature that I’m sure will improve over time.
Sound Quality and Voice Recognition -- Here’s yet another spot that’s a bit of a hit and miss. The voice recognition and quality of the mics are outstanding. It does a great job of picking up the code word and responding to voice commands despite noise in the room. This is something the Echo has always struggled with in my home due to high ceilings. Sound quality on the other hand, well the Google Home gets its butt handed to it by the Echo. The Echo is far louder and better at projecting a big sound out of a tiny speaker. The Google Home’s audio quality was far inferior to the Echo…they have a lot of work to do here.
One thing I’d like to see added is the ability to choose a different wake word. My phones all respond to “Ok Google” and now so does this. If someone says that wake word they’ll likely have 5 different devices in the room all perk up. It would be nice to change the wake word to something unique so to avoid this sort of issue.
It’s a fun device and I recommend it for those not deeply entrenched in the Amazon ecosystem, or for those who already have an Echo. If you’re looking for a device like this and you’re an avid Google ecosystem user I highly recommend it. If you’re after a device for the purposes of listening to music you should maybe consider holding out until version next. That little speaker just doesn’t sound clean enough for my tastes. I’m thinking version 2 will likely correct all this.
