Imagine my surprise, instead of the usual frenetic (and boring) non-stop action from the start, in finding a (relatively) slow-burn character development and lots of sly, self-deprecating humor. And fine acting to boot. And of course eventually lots of action and hyper-cgi. Best movie of its kind in ages.
Big-screen version of the Dahl story, with the usual over-the-top Spielbergisms, but overall very funny and nicely animated. Not quite as good as the earlier, lower budget version, though.
Princess Elena learns how to rule her kingdom of Avalor, guided by her gentle heart, mighty courage, and the support of her friends. Includes select episodes from the Disney animated series, as well as a full length adventure special. Voiced by Aimee Carrero, Jenna Ortega, Chris Parnell, and Yvette Nicole Brown.
