Great and Touching Film
on September 30, 2017

My title is my review of the movie. Many other reviewers have said what I feel so I don't need to go further.
In regards to the 20th Anniversary Limited Edition blu ray release. Hmmmm.... there is actually nothing limited about it other than the year happened to be the 20th Anniversary. The blu ray disc itself has no bonus features at all, which confused me. Instead I have to pop in the dvd 2nd disc (the dvd discs are included in this release) to see the same 2 bonus features + one more. The bonus features on this release include: "Voices From the List," (also on dvd), "The Shoah Foundation Story" (also on dvd; the dvd one says "with S. Spielberg") and then one extra bonus "About IWitness" (not on the dvd).
I am just including the above info in case one already owns the dvd release and is trying to decide whether or not to buy the blu ray release.
Peace.

It's A Classic

I mean, it's a classic. You can't go wrong with Bambi.
Regarding bonus features (if it matters to you):
I cannot compare THIS release to the original blu ray release because I do not have the original. But I will compare it to the DVD release. Not including unnecessary features like games and activities, the DVD had "Restoring Bambi," "The Legacy Continues: Sneak Peek at New Bambi," "Disney Time Capsule: 1942 - Year of Bambi" and "The Art of Bambi." None of the features I just mentioned appear on THIS blu ray release. The blu ray has all the other DVD features and a few features not on the DVD release: "Studio Stories: Bambi," "2 new deleted scenes" and "The Golden Age." One of the features was done differently, "Bambi: Inside Walt's Story Meetings," which by the way is a very cool feature! On the DVD it is under Bonus Features, Patrick Stewart gives an intro, and they embed it in the movie (pic in pic) a little differently. On THIS blu ray release, you have to click on "play" to play the movie, which then gives you three play options: The regular movie, some weird version of the movie with an artist's art on the side (like side black bars), and then the embedded story meetings; but these story meetings has no Patrick Stewart intro.
Overall, still a good blu ray release and great classic movie.

Let Me Explain...
on September 30, 2017

The movie was great; many other reviews will tell you that. Why 2 stars? Because of the Blu Ray features. Zero! None! Say what?
This Blu Ray actually has absolutely NO bonus features. They couldn't even put the commentary on it??? I don't consider audio selections and subtitles to be bonus features. My Crash DVD includes: Audio Commentary, DVD Intro, Behind the Scenes, Storyboard Compares, Script to Screen Compares, Music Montage, Photo Gallery.
This review gives 5 stars to the movie and 0 stars to the disc, and thus 2 stars for the final product (a split down the middle; and you cannot give half stars; but it deserves to be rounded down and not up).
Yes, to recommend to a friend if they only want the movie.
No, to recommend to a friend if they like extras; in this case find the DVD version.
Peace.
