Depends what you want to do with it

If you want to listen to watch DVD's, it's great. With Blu-ray discs, it's only mediocre at best. If you are the type of person to create a digital library of your media, pass on this. A single DVD takes at least 8 hours to back up. I don't have a built in drive on my newest laptop and was forced to buy this for school needs. I think I will be selling this and buying something much better.

Excellent weather radio

We purchased this for hurricane Irma's imminent impact on our area. I'm a paramedic and was on duty during the entire storm. I wanted to give my family every opportunity to keep informed of weather hazards. The lithium ion battery in the unit lasts FOREVER. It has held a charge in stand by mode for just over a month now. You can charge with a mini USB, hand crank, or, the built in solar panel. Along with the lithium ion battery, you can install AA batteries. There is a little toggle switch to switch between the two. It's small, and slightly hard to get to you have fat fingers like I do, but, it's do able. It has AM, FM, and dedicated weather bands. In standby mode, when a weather alert is issued, everyone in your ZIP code will be made aware when the alert goes off. I think a few dead people woke up in the nearby cemetery. The built in LED flashlight is NUTS. That thing is so bright you might think the sun is out if you put it outside your window. This thing is incredibly rugged as well. What's the first thing my son does when I'm reading the manual? (He's 2 mind you) He picks it up and before I can say anything, he throws it across the room. Not even a single scratch. The telescopic antenna is another story. That didn't last very long before the top 2 portions broke off. The unit still works great, but the only complaint I have is the flimsy antenna. If you live in an area prone to severe weather, you need this. If you have family who live in severe weather prone areas, you need to buy this for them. This is a great product.

Bought this unit prior to hurricane Irma making it's way through. With it's low watt usage, it was a GREAT fit for my bedroom, and generator. My generator was running 2 refrigerators, a few lamps, and this AC unit. The Honeywell unit used so little power, I've decided it's cheaper to run it in my bedroom and keep the rest of the house a bit warmer. While some people complain about the noise, mine it almost TOO quiet. I have to have some sort of white noise to sleep, and a cold room. This unit provides both. The noise isn't a nuisance, but JUST right. The dehumidifier is amazing, and is large enough to be able run for 24 hours without needing to be emptied. I'm tempted to buy more for the front of the house that gets warmest in the summer heat. To give a comparison, we have a top of the line Trane 21 SEER ac unit in our house that keeps it nice and cool. Adding this unit to the bedroom, I can get the temp to a nice 60 degrees, wicked fast. Our power never went out during the hurricane thank goodness, but a co-workers power did. He borrowed the unit and was amazed and bought his own.

The Best Buy site says it's an ER301, but I don't see that in the Midland company's product list. I do see the ER310, so is the Best Buy site incorrect? Is it a typo?

The model I received is an ER310. I tried taking a picture of the model number, but it's so small my camera can't focus on it.

You will love this radio. I promise. See my review.
