This is a low-budget horror movie with big budget blood and guts. What starts as a nice family reunion turns into a blood bath when a group of strangers in masks invade with murderous intentions. Luckily, one of the guests happens to be a survivalist. She quickly turns the table on the invaders thanks to her skills and experience. There is a twist in the story and an ironic ending. It's great for those who enjoy seeing would-be killers get their comeuppance.
This was a great follow up the first film. The story of Peter Parker and Spiderman are threatened by two new villains. One is a lonely pathetic super fan of Spiderman who becomes the villain Electro after a freak accident (isn't always the case.) The other is Peter's old friend Harry Osborne, who becomes the Green Goblin. There's also more about Peter's parents deaths and lives. Aside from the story, there is also a lot of cool action. It looks great in 3D.
I saw it in theaters in 3D and I couldn't wait to get it on Bluray. Naturally, even in a monster fight fest like this, there has to be a plot. Not surprising, it centers on a family that includes someone in the military. We get involved in the story of this one family as they try to survive what could possibly be the end of the world. What makes this Godzilla more interesting than recent efforts, is that Godzilla is Earth's salvation instead of it's destroyer. Thanks to the advances in computer special effects, gone are the actors in rubber suits and puppets fighting on miniature replicas of cities or terrains. One might argue that Godzilla might have put on a little weight, but that aside, the battles are fantastic and the story keeps you interested in. This movie proves that Godzilla is indeed the king of the monsters.
