Lightning took out HDMI inputs on my LG tv. Is there any other device that can hook up to stream netflix?
There are tons of other devices. You can pick up Wii cheaply and plug in via the Red/Yellow/White cables to watch net flix. If oyu only have component cables than find a cheap Xbox 360 or PS3

can the roku cause a power supply problem and make the tv unusable
i connected a roku 3500 to my vizio. it froze up 4 times and had to be reset. on the 4th try the screen went dark and was no picture. unusable. freak thing or roku problem?
I have neve had this issue with either my Roku 2 HD or Streaming stick.
Few questions:
- Does the TV work without roku
- Does the roku work on any other tv
Which device do you have? If oyu have the streaming stick, try using the AC adapter instead of the USB cable

Can I easily add a channel (free) and then delete the channel if I find that I don't use it?
Yes it is very easy to do this,
- move to the channel you wish to delete
- hit the * button on the remote
- select “Remove channel” and click OK.

Can I stream a movie that I have on my iPad to the TV via Roku?
I would normally stream movies or other stuff from my iPad to my tv by using my Appletv, however, if I didn't have an Apple TV, could I stream from ipad to the TV via roku (stream videos on my iPad to the TV via roku)?
It depends on which app you are using. I have success doing it with Plex.
