This 3 CD package was a great value at the price. Disc 1 & 3 containing a variety of songs from several era's of Rush's career especially the early to late eighties (the synth era). This makes this a great lead in to the future R40 live release, as many of these songs were not included on that tour since they were performed on this, the previous tour! Disc 2 contains the live version of Rush's most recent release Clockwork Angels. Most of the songs from that "conceptual" album are played here, but the difference is Rush has invited a String Ensemble to join them onstage, a first for the band to have any other musicians tour and play along with the trio! There are some really great modern Rush songs found here: The Wrecker's, Carnies, Seven Cities of Gold, The Anarchist, The Garden ( Rush's newest classic hit!), and my favorite Rush modern era song Headlong Flight (which includes Drumbastica, a fantastic drum solo by Master of Percussion, Neil Peart!)! The album has an acoustic solo by Alex Lifeson, one of the most consistently creative guitarists in Rock n Roll! And bassist Geddy Lee is in top form throughout this album giving fantastic rhythm to many songs and dynamic bass lines to all others! This album is certainly a must for the Rush fans of later era's! And for any fans of these Classic and Modern Rock Master's at the top of their game, playing well and having a great time doing it!
