Still really good, but something is missing

I LOVE Rosetta. And I have from the first listen. I also collect CDs, so I will not buy music digitally. Long story short, I was quite disappointed when Rosetta's two most recent releases were initially released digitally (as far as I know). So I was quite excited to see this album released in CD format. But now that I've listened to it, while I like it, it doesn't seem as stellar as their earlier releases. Maybe I was too excited for it. But by all means, if you like Rosetta, this is a worthy addition.

You like the style or you don't

As a general rule, I do not like death metal. Mainly its the vocals and the muffled sound quality. But one's view of any type of art can be quite fickle. I like Melechesh (middle eastern metal) but don't like Nile (American metal with Egyptian themes). Reviews generally compare Crescent to Nile. But I like Crescent. Go figure. So if you're a fan of either Melechesh or Nile, give this a chance.

I really don't know how particular a review for a TV wall mount needs to be. We pretty much had to place a TV above our fireplace and this did the trick. We wanted a mounted that allowed us to tilt the TV forward, and we didn't want one that turned side-to-side. Again, this worked perfectly. Mounting was easy even though we weren't able to use studs because of how our builder did things. So, it was easy to install and it works as promised.

Perfectly acceptable television

I have this tv hung over my fireplace, and it is the first tv with which I cut the cord. I don't pretend to have a good eye for picture quality or a good ear for sound quality. What I can tell you is that this tv looks and sounds perfectly fine to me. The only issue I have had is that occasionally my streaming choices (Amazon, Netflix, Sling) sometimes say there is no internet when there is. But to be fair, I have yet to determine if that is the tv, the streaming service, or my internet bandwidth.

Not as good as their previous releases

I'm recent to Russian Circles despite them having quite a lengthy history. I've jumped around a bit in picking up their albums having gone with Enter and Empros before Station. I really enjoyed the former two releases as I classified them as heavier Pelican. Station just isn't doing it for me as much, as it sounds a bit dialed back. Of course, this could just be the luster coming off the band as I become more familiar with them, and it certainly isn't a bad album.

I accidentally discovered Slugdge by reading comments to articles on the one metal website I browse. I'm so glad I did, as this is the type of metal I like. Alas I'm not a metal reviewer, so I'll paraphrase. Slugdge combine death, prog, and tech into a sound that is best described as early Mastodon but a bit heavier. That sentence should sway you one way or the other.

Just a great instrumental band

I didn't like Pelican upon first listen, but grew to like them. For some reason I never gave Russian Circles a chance. This is the second of their albums I've picked up, and I think they're great. Very similar sounding to Pelican, but heavier in my opinion. I wouldn't want to listen to instrumental bands every day, but this is as good a choice as any.

A return to the original sound

I grew up loving Sepultura with Max, yet I never got into Soulfly. So use that info when reading the rest of this. I was thrilled when Max and Igor got back together, and I've purchased all 4 CC albums without worrying about reviews. I was pleased with the first two, but the last album (Pandemonium) was a disappointment. This album is a return to the sound of the first two CC albums.

I bought these for my soon-to-be three-year-old son. He wanted headphones because his dad and older brother had headphones. Believe it or not, my young son is not an audiophile. However, he is quite adept at breaking things, but he has been unable to break these. That's a good purchase as far as I'm concerned, even though I haven't a clue as to how good they sound.

Power metal, but not too much

For me, Communic just goes to show that you can't catch every metal band. I recently read a review for their new release, and discovered that they came out a decade ago. I wish I would have caught them sooner. Communic definitely has power metal tendencies . . . and I don't like power metal. But they also deservedly have the "progressive" label. Maybe that's why I give this 5 stars - I found a band in the realm of power metal that I actually like. Take a listen. It is heavy yet power metal-like in the vocals, but neither is too far in either direction.
