This is a FUN movie! Fairbanks Jr leaps about as the rogue Sinbad, and uses his agility and brains to outwit the villains. Vibrant Technicolor saturates every scene.
Based on a series of science fiction novels, The Expanse is set a few hundred years in the future when humanity has colonized a large chunk of the solar system. Follow Joe Miller (Thomas Jane), a police detective born and raised in the asteroid belt, as he investigates the mysterious disappearance of corporate heiress Julie Andromeda Mao and the implications that has for the tenuous peace between Earth, now controlled by the United Nations, and a militaristic colony of humans who have settled on Mars. Also trying to uncover the mystery of Julie's disappearance are Jim Holden (Steven Strait) and the crew of an ice hauling ship which finds itself caught up in the political intrigue involving Earth, Mars and the Belt. This 3-disc set collects all 10 episodes from the first season of the Syfy series.
The Expanse is what TV science-fiction can be! Deeper than the simplicity of Star Wars & Star Trek, with compelling characters and a storyline with 'wheels within wheels.'
Another in the good Whovian Christmas specials. A fast, rambling adventure. A good preview of Nardole's character. Comedic, and a dramatic layer underneath
I've loved this movie since I first saw it on TV years ago. I love Warbirds and it's a treat to see the P-47 'Jugs' flying. Good drama, mixed with actual USAAF combat film. Not quite historically accurate in some details, but close enough for Hollywood.
I've never read any of the Dr Strange comics, so I'm a Newbie. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The actors were very good in their roles, and really drew me into the plot, and kept me there.
