Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon: Low dispersion lens elements, plus vibration reduction and ultrasonic silent drive technology, make this zoom lens ideal for shooting close-up action shots or wildlife in the distance. Antireflective eBAND coating reduces flare and ghosting for crisp images.

A good alternative to Nikon glass

Good to excellent long lens have two disadvantages, price and weight. The Tamron I just purchased is not the latest model of the 150-600mm. As a result, I got the lens for a great price with the instant rebate from Tamron and the 6% rebate for 30-day terms on my BestBuy Visa card. The weight of the lens can be a bit tiring without a good camera strap if you intend to not be setup on a tripod. The lens sharpness and and auto focus response is equally good on both my D810 and D500. No regrets on my part with the decision to buy.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G Standard Lens: Suitable for professional and amateur photographers, this is a great lens for travel, events, portraits and general purpose photography. Capture clear images in dim lighting without a flash with the wide-open aperture. Switch seamlessly from automatic to fine manual focusing so you can ensure every detail is spot on.

Fast and sure. As with any prime lens, you need to have an eye for a good shot. If you have the lighting and an interesting subject, this lens will capture it in perfection.

Everything and more

I spent considerable time researching this camera. All pointers indicated that the D810 was the next purchase if I was serious about the direction I wanted to pursue a semipro position. This my third Nikon purchase that began with a Nikon 4004 many years earlier. Prior to the D810 I purchased a D5300. I now use both when appropriate. The flexibility and quality of images are excellent. The only downside is quality FX lens cost when considering previous DX lens purchases. Crop mode does not let you have full benefit of the camera and vignettes produced by DX lenses in full frame are far to distracting and present unnecessary editing. Absolutely a great camera.

Is this lens frist generation or the second generation

If the price have been quoted is less than a thousand, it is probably a G1. G2 are running around 1300. I have a G1 and it has served me well. Get ready for heavy glass regardless of generation.
