I've always enjoyed this monster of a film and find that the negativity thrown at it to be a bit unjustified. Nice example of huge hollywood system work at its most grand. The bonus features on this release really are worth the price of admission alone. Beautiful transfer as well.

Its a rare position to be in to have two releases of the same film that offer very different visual treatments of the film. I for one enjoyed the original bluray and found the explanations for the changes to be very well thought out. With this edition you are able to see a transfer of the movie that more closely replicates what was initially shown in theaters. If only fox would do this with some of their other catalogue titles...

Wonderful 3D, soundtrack that packs a punch

3D effect is some of the best available, clarity and depth amaze. Nicely replicates my viewing of the film in Imax 3d. With the eventual release of the extended edition this theatrical cut is a little light on extras, but what is here is well done and won't be replicated on the eventual extended release so I'm happy its included here. Overall a very nice 3D blu package.

Wonderful remaster of a classic. The newly included panel with the cast/crew is excellent. Glad to see the remaster was done with care, and not scrubbed to the point of waxiness. Replaced the disc one of my previously purchased bluray trilogy. MGM/Fox need to keep it up with the remasters of the early releases of their catalogue.

Got this filter to help with a shoot I was doing out on Belle Isle, and it did help cut down the highlights in the water and keep the details in the skies, but at the expense of some sharpness. Not entirely unexpected, as any extra layer permits for quality loss. Build was ok, not as thick as I had hoped. But I needed it that day, and it was only one available. Would like to know who manufactures these rocket fish filters...

Got this filter to cut down the visible light making its way through my lens for more creative possibilities in bright daylight situations. Does what its supposed to, and I haven't been able to detect much loss in image quality, but time will tell. Build quality is ok, but the coating is less than even in areas. Not bad for the price, and convenience of getting it in store the day of a shoot.

Great alternative to the nifty fifty

Picked this fun little lens up at a great price, and it has to be one of the more fun lenses I've had the pleasure of shooting with in a while. The 40mm focal length really is closer to what your eye sees than a 50mm, on full frame at least. Its surprisingly sharp, sharper than I expected. With this lens on my 6D the camera really does become quite a light walk around option. Its built amazingly well, much better than the nifty fifty. Autofocus is a bit slower than I expected while being very quiet so that is a plus, but the manual focus is nice and smooth and fairly accurate without a lot of play. Overall very happy with this lens, have found it on my camera a lot more than I thought I would.

This little adapter does exactly what it is supposed to. I've used many generic/clone brands of these at work, and the only ones that actually stand up to repeated use and don't eventually degrade are these OEM ones from Apple. You get what you pay for, and while the price is a bit more than it probably should be, the fact that I have never had one of these die on me and have had dozens of the cheap generic/clone ones go bad within weeks of starting use, I'll stick with these from now on.
