Disappointing product

Purchased this item back in July, and was immediately amazed by it's range and speed. About two months into use, the product started to have minor issues that required restarting the router. Just under 60 days into owning the product, the router stopped transmitting 5ghz signal. After connecting with ASUS, they determined it was a hardware issue.

I was asked to fill out an RMA form, pay close to $20 to ship the product and then wait 5-7 days before they ship it back. Although they recognize wi-fi is almost mandatory in a household in today's world, they have no services available to send a replacement unit and ship your defective unit back. Unacceptable for a $300 product!

I would have rated it slightly higher if not for the fact that I have seen online that there are tons of users reporting the same issues with the 5ghz band. Do yourself a favor and replace with a Nighthawk r7000 which seems to have many of those affected users flocking to it. I has turned out to be a router with better range and speed and a lower price point.
