Controls all my devices flawlessly. Easiest remote to set up. Backlighted buttons are great. The only negative thing I would say about this remote is that the top buttons (power and activity) do not light up and it drives me crazy...

So Far, So Good. I've owned this for approximately 2 months and have used it once every few days, running it till the bucket became full. I use it in a finished basement that also has an A/C unit so I haven't needed to rely only on this unit. It has done it's job as would be expected. I find it noisy, even on low, but seems to be just as noisy as other units I have owned. I do have to say that this is by far the best looking dehumidifier I've seen. A much more modern take on your "Dad's old dehumidifier". I agree 100 percent that you MUST purchase an extended warranty. The previous dehumidifier I purchased (GE from a big-box store) at around the same price point died on me after 2 years. I had not purchased an extended warranty so I lost out. I do tend to move the unit around from room to room in the basement, and I also store it when the weather allows. Not sure if this makes a difference or not. I am on my second unit as the first one I purchased, and had shipped to the store, was damaged. The top of the basket was cracked. Had the warranty so it wasn't a problem. Geeks had to order me a new one, took about a week, since they had none in the store. Overall this seems to be a good unit and seems to be functioning well. Also keep in mind that while 46 pounds doesn't seem too bad its in an awkward shape. It comes in a large box and most of the weight is toward the bottom where the compressor is and you don't want to bang it around (like going up stairs) as you could damage it. I do believe the warranty is very important and will most likely be purchasing warranties from now on whenever I purchase electronics. Seems like times are changing and things are being produced at a high volume, at a high rate, and as cheaply as possible. You may want to check your unit thoroughly before leaving the store as it is rather heavy and a pain to lug back and forth if need be. BESTBUY was great when I informed them of the damage. They saw I had purchased the warranty and asked me what I would like to do. Even offering to replace the unit with something they had available in stock.
