DVD??? You need to get a Blu-Ray player. That will upconvert your old DVDs to 720p quality and play Blu-Rays at 1080p quality.

How long will the Samsung 60, 4k, smart T.V be on sale?
I would wager that it would be on sale until it is not carried any longer. However, the price that it is on sale for may vary. Best Buy does do Price Matching though. So, if it goes on sale cheaper than what you bought it on sale for, within 30 days, you can match the price. You can even match it to a competitor like Wal-Mart or Amazon.

What do you mean by "DirecTV ready"? Do you mean if you can watch DirecTV on it? Yes, you can watch DirecTV on any TV with a HDMI input. All flat panels have a HDMI input.
Additionally, this TV will sync with your DirecTV box to allow the smart remote to control your DirecTV. I tried it and didn't care for it as the smart remote lacks the buttons of the DirecTV remote.
