The movie is great. The fact I only wanted a Blu-Ray with a digital copy is my only issue. Disney made sure that if you want a Digital you have to pay lots to get it!! You must get a DVD and a 3D disk also. This makes it legal to charge a huge sum. They are not offering what most other companies have. it is a blu-Ray or everything under the sun.
So it gets a 5 because the movie is great. As for Disney monopolizing the situation. They would get a 1.

Better picture - Onscreen Interface cheap.

First, I will say it is faster than my old Blu-Ray player and if you place a 4K movie in it. You will see higher definition. I don't have a 4K T.V. but still saw more detail than with the older player.
My Only Issue is the onscreen Interface. The last model I had used a very detailed quality Interface. This one is very cheaply designed. I have noticed this is the same interface used on the cheaper Samsung models being currently made also.
The unit itself does look nice and works great. It is nice to have a player big enough the cords don't move it around! I only bought a new player because my old one seemed like it was going out. Although I am not fond of the Onscreen Interface. It is a great unit. The picture it outputs is very nice. Plus if I ever buy a REAL 4K T.V. this will work with it. I am just amazed at the quality of picture when I played a 4K movie. This alone makes it worth having.
The Apps are not that fast. It is faster than the cheaper models. I use a ROKU-3 to use apps for watching Netflix and VUDU. It is very fast and easier to use since that is its main job.
I would advise that if you have a SAMSUNG T.V. you buy this unit. Its control interacts with most models and has an auto switch mode when you turn on the Blu-Ray player. You have to turn it back to TV later but it will switch the T.V. to the player as soon as the player is turned on.
I had to order this model in. It isn't a normal store item. Only very few Best Buys carry then in stock. What is normally sold is the same stuff that has been selling for the last Ten years. The cases have just changed.
The unit wold of gotten 5 STARS if the Onscreen Interface was as nice as my older Samsung unit. Which was better than what they sell in stores today.

Not sure. This Cable is labeled for for HDMI to PC HDMI. It was used to plug a Laptop that had the small PC HDMI port to a Standard T.V. HDMI port. It worked fine. There are two items for sale that look similar. This one was for the PC port. Odds are high thats what you have on the tablet.

What settings do you you use for upscaling a DVD to near 4k
This happens automatically. Remember the best effect is placing a 4K movie in the unit. The next best thing is the unit upscaling a 1080p Blu-Ray to 4K.
A DVD is very low in resolution. So even though it will upscale it. It can only do so much. The data isn't there for very good quality. The unit is always outputing at 4K.
Just make sure your T.V. and Player have settings for the size of the screen you have. This means that if it is a widescreen picture it might have black space above and below the movie. Don't stretch the movie to fill the whole screen if it isn't formatted like that. The picture will look as good as it can.

Dose this player come with a full web browser like the BDH 6500
just wondering if this unit comes with a full web browser like the one on the BDH-6500
I am not sure about that but the onscreen interface is very cheap looking compared to the older units from years ago. The Movie output to the screen is incredible on my 1080p T.V. When I played a real a 4k Movie in it. It is a faster unit but I use a ROKU-3 to watch items with. The ROKU is just allot faster. Sucks because now the ROKU-4 is 4k.
P.S. you can always return an item if it isn't up to your liking.

Playing 4K Discs
The specifications tab states max video output at 1080p. Does this actually output 4k discs as 2160p? This is either an error on the specs tab or super confusing.
I have this unit. I played a 4K movie on it through my 1080p 53" Samsung T.V. THE PICTURE WAS AWESOME!!!
Keep in mind the marketing is set to sell 4K T.V.'s. There are not many 4K movies available. So the unit upscales to 4K. That means it outputs 4K.
Lots of people are running out to get 4K T.V.s and there really isn't much they can watch in that resolution. So even Blu-Rays need upscaling. It is outputting 4K.. I own "THE FIFTH ELEMENT" in 4K. The resolution it sent to my 1080p tv was amazing. I have watched this movie many times from a standard blu-ray. One would think I wouldn't see a difference but it was there. I was amazed.
