Save on the computer size, weight and the growing challenges you will face in finding said computer, but just opting for a laptop, Surface or tablet that doesn't have this, but will run Windows or IOS. Simply buy a slim portable DVD/Blue Ray writer that will accomplish what you need when you need it. I use the LG Ultra-Slim Portable DVD Writer all the time (when needed). I bought this for $35 at the time, but it’s now just $23 at the link below. It's easy to simply plug into a USB drive and use this when I want to watch a movie, need to burn a CD to my music collection or load software that has been delivered on a Disc becoming almost non-existent since virtually everything has to be downloaded. I still buy CD's since I will listen to these in my car and I enjoy having the hard copy, but I always copy these onto my computer and have virtually moved to where I won't buy a movie that doesn't come with a digital copy that I can add to my collection of movies in Vudu. Save yourself the challenges of finding a laptop that has a built in DVD/CD writer and get a portable one that you can use when you want. I keep mine stored in the small box it came in and easily transport it and take it with me when I need it, otherwise I leave it in my desk at work.
