You have to buy this if you want to connect a mic to your camera. $20 is a little pricey, and I was not too impressed by the quality of the sound.

Purchased this to connect a full size mic to a GoPro. It did the job, but I also had to buy the GoPro proprietary adapter. Sound quality was not that impressive.

Is the Go Pro Hero 3+ compatible with IPHONE 5?
Yes. Make sure the app is updated on your phone and the bluetooth/wifi settings are coordinated.
