Great picture, but motion blur is a little jarring

I've purchased a 40" Westinghouse in 2013 and loved it. It was time to upgrade and I couldn't beat the deal on Black Friday for this 50" 4K TV. First off the picture quality is amazing. Very rich detail and it was instantly noticeable from 1080p, but I can see that some people (my wife) did not recognize the increase in clarity.
The thing that is making me return this TV is the 60 Hz and Soap Opera effect. Its jarring to me and honestly gives me a bit of a headache. My wife notices it but it doesn't bother her as much. So I really think its just preference at this point. I tried to turn off the MEMC motion blurring, and tried lowering the sharpness as I've seen that has helped some others. None of that really helped and you start to close some clarity.
One other drawback was playing Xbox. There was a very noticeable and frustrating lag.I know I have 4K compatible monster HDMI cables so that is not a reason. I had to mess with a decent amount of controller sensitivity setting to try and correct. I tried what I've seen online to correct but I did not help.
Overall, if you are watching live TV like sporting events then this is a fantastic TV for you. It was stunning to watch football and the NBA on this the other day. Great for a sports den. If you do not care about motion blur, then get this TV. Great deal but just has a few drawbacks.
