A Good Game That Should Have Been Great

The first Battlefront reboot was a good game, but failed in comparison to the old Battlefront games. It had limited content for a full priced game, but EA in all their greed happily threw a $50 season pass at you to let you buy the rest of the game. Needless to say, this didn't go over well with a lot of people. This time around it seems like EA has listened to fans and added a lot more content and ditched the season pass? Great eh? Not really.
So, what went wrong? The greedy suits at EA that is what. You see, EA has adopted the loot box system to the game. Loot boxes can contain things like in game credits, and power ups for your characters. You can get loot boxes 1 of 2 ways. First through normal play earning credits in the single player modes, and multiplayer modes. The second is to spend more money and buy loot boxes directly. The problem with this is that credits take a long time to earn, and if you don't want to spend a few 100 hours to power up your characters you need to buy them. This means someone with too much money can drop another $100 or so into the game to buy quick, and easy advantages over players who don't. It essentially makes the game pay to win.
EA has caught a ton of flak over this and as a result they made a few changes to the game such as reducing hero cost and so on. However while they took these positive steps, they went and reduced credits earned in the games solo modes.
Another huge negative of the game is just how limited you are with single player content. Yes there's a story mode, and an arcade mode, but most of the maps, and modes from the online mode are not playable offline.
I could go on a bout a lot of the negatives, but the game itself is actually really good. Its still a far cry from the original Battlefront 2 on XBox, PS2, and PC, but its good. The graphics are amazing and if you have and X then you'll be amazed. In the end I can't say if you should buy this game or not. Do you care about being dominated by players who paid for advantages? Do you care about the fairly limited single player content? If you answered no to these questions, and love Star Wars then go ahead. If you do then please don't feed the trolls and spend any cash on loot boxes.

could be better. You see, having 6 classic NES Mega Man titles in 1 collection is a great thing. However back in 2004 Capcom released a better collection with 10 games on PS2, Gamecube, and XBox. Still, if you like classic Mega Man you still cannot go wrong with this collection.

A Gem That All Need To Play

If you don't know already, Skyrim is an open world RPG that you could spend 100s of hours exploring. This version is a step up in graphics over the old 360 and PS3 versions, but still pales a little in comparison to the PC version. If you own both an XBox One, and PS4 this is the version to get. I personally own both versions and prefer this one. While they both look similar, but the XBox version has the edge due to mods. While the PS4 also has mods, they are extremely limited compared to this one. This means no Macho Man dragons on PS4. However if you don't care about mods and own a PS4 Pro, you may want to opt for the enhanced Pro visuals. Either way you're in for a treat buying this game.

A Good VR Headset Held Back By Issues

First things first, the PS4 VR is a really great product for the price. Most people already own a PS4, so for $400-500 more this is a great set. So far the game selection is a little on the slim side (with most being a little shallow), however this will quickly change as VR gains in popularity. The quality of the video in the PS4 VR games varies quite wildly. More simplistic or slower titles like Battlezone, Rez, and Batman look pretty good, while games like Drive Club are extremely blurry. No matter what you play, if you're expecting to get a crystal clear image then you'll be let down.
There are a few major issues which really hold the PS4 VR back from greatness. First off is that the tracking is terrible. It seems like every few minutes you need to hold the options button down to re-calibrate the thing. I'm not sure if this has to do with the old technology in the camera, or something in the headset itself. Either way this is an issue which cannot be ignored. The second major issue is with the VR's processor unit which you plug the HDMI cables, and headset into. If you have a 4K TV with HDR then you won't be able to use it unless you feel like constantly swapping out the HDMI cable from the unit and your TV. The final major issue is one that will affect PS4 Pro owners. I'm not 100% sure what the issue is here, but it seems that when you have them connected, you screen will occasionally lose picture, and sound for a second or 2. On a few occasions it actually went out for around 20 seconds or so. The problem only seems to occur during the first 10 minutes after turning the system on and then it stops. I'm not completely sure, but it seems Sony has tried to cut cost by making the processing unit as cheap as possible. Either way its been a widespread issue for around 5 months or so and Sony seems to be ignoring the it.

I've been a huge fan of the Halo series since the start. Ever since 343 took over the franchise with Halo 4 there have been mixed reactions. Personally I am very happy with the way they've done things. they've brought a freshness to the series that it needed and Halo 5 is no exception. New this time around is the Campaign focus on co-op. Sure you can go at it alone, but this time more focus was given to this aspect. The multiplayer mode has also been revamped making it better then ever. The new Warzone mode is also a welcome addition. If you own an XBox One, you need this game.

If you're like me and grew up in the 80s on the original Transformers cartoons, then you owe it to yourself to buy this game. It is complete, and total fan-service from the first minute of play. None of this Michael Bay stuff here. This is Transformers the way it is supposed to be. All is not perfect though as the game has 2 issues. The first is repeating environments. You see the same city and sewers over and over with little change. The second issue with the game is the camera. Its not horrible, but at times it can swing around so you can't see what your shooting at, or where your driving. Other then that, my only other gripe would be for a few more Autobots to play as. A minor issue considering everything else though. Plus, there's always room for a sequel if this does well.

Without a doubt The Hulk is the most needed figure of the Disney Infinity 2.0 set. Why? Because he's the Hulk. Like the rest of the characters from the 2.0 series, this figure will only work in 2.0 up. Out of all the characters i've used so far in the 2.0 series, Hulk is easily my favorite. You can just run around smashing everything and have fun. Now don't go thinking its going to make it like the Hulk Ultimate Destruction game. However, you'll still have tons of fun ranking this character up. The Disney sculpt given to this figure is another added bonus too. I wasn't crazy about the design at first, but now I love it.

When the original Skylanders hit I dismissed it as both a kids game, and a money pit. I was right. However, that doesn't mean its not fun. A friend of mine purchased it and I played it and I was immediately hooked. Now on game #5 im still hooked. Each game has a different gimmick and Superchargers is no exception. This time around vehicles is the main draw. You now have land, air, and sea. Although you can play through the entire game with the car included, you'll also want to buy an air, and sea vehicle to get the most out of the game. At $15, the cost of this game will easily set you over $100 if you want to see it all. Its not as big of a money pit as Trap Team was, but its still one nonetheless. An addictive one at that. This time we get online play too.

A Needed Element To The Game

If you bought Skylanders Trap Team on any console, then im sure you quickly realized that you were rather limited with how many enemies you could trap in the standard 2 traps that came with the game. So needless to say, to get maximum enjoyment out of this great title, you're going to need a trap of each element. The Earth trap like all the other traps operate the same thing. You simply place it in the portal to trap an Earth based villain when prompted and that is it. Six bucks per trap is a little steep in my opinion, but you can get them in 3 packs for $15 to save a little. It also helps if you're a Gamers Club Unlocked member as it really brings the cost down to a reasonable level.

I've been a huge fan of the Forza series since the start and when Forza 6 was announced at this years E3 I was excited to say the least. If you're not familiar with the series it is essentially a racing sim loaded with tracks, cars, and online play. It allows you to tweak nearly anything on your car you can think of from your gears to your vinyls. If you more of a fan of the arcade racing genre, or new to it, then no worries either. You can also set things to make them as realistic, or arcade like as you want. Like the past Forza 5, this also runs at a stunning 1080p, 60 fps but manages to look even better then before. From smaller visual goodie like mist, to all new rain, and night driving, this game simply must be played to be experienced.
