Great replacement for Android

I had an HTC one x for over 2 years and I spent half a year interning in a mobile solutions team playing with iPhones and iPads and all other mobile devices. Windows phone was the only operating system I didn't extensively play with. And its thoroughly impressed me.
Livetiles are great, they work a lot better than widgets and just feel more accessible than pages of apps on your homescreen. Plus the ability to resize it makes a better feel to it. I want my camera app to be the first thing on my screen, but my facebook tile takes up twice as much space because thats what I always click.
The appearance on the phone itself is very nice. Since you can add images to the background, scrolling looks very nice.
The HTC One for Windows has the great Windows phone 8.1 along with the hardware, feel and appearence of an android phone. I was skeptical at trying a windows phone out because of the fact that the major phones were all Lumias which I didn't like the appearence of. The camera is good for short pictures and the duel front facing speakers always shock me. most devices have one speaker or speakers in the back which really decreases sound quality.
Problems? There are of course problems with every operating system. The OS itself has a few glitches where an app will crash from time to time (happens on all of them). Namely when streaming videos from the web, sometimes if it doesn't buffer enough the video will close. The main concern with anyone is the Apps. There are many missing apps, mostly due to google not supporting windows phone so they do not provide Chrome, youtube, google+ etc. All major apps have stable and free third party softwares that link you to the service. I have my youtube player, music from google music, Tinder, Snapchat and anything else I need.
I like this product and I genuinely think people need to give Windows phone a try. Its now able to compete with the other brands and everything will come if more people buy it.

Great Phone!

I absolutely love this phone! My last phone was a Nokia 920 which was and still is a great phone but alas has become my backup phone JIC. This phone is much faster and a beast when it comes to opening an app to multiple apps. The display is a little bit bigger but not any wider to where you cant use it one handed for text, it is also the best looking display I've ever had too. I personally think the camera takes a great picture but I'm not a photographer either though. I think the best feature of the, aside from the sheer awesomeness in of itself, is the double tap screen wake up feature and the auto-hide of the taskbar on the screen. Battery life is good too but I always run battery saver, so... Nokia could honestly learn a couple things from this phone, not that theirs are bad at all. But if I had to pick between the both of them again I would pick the HTC over the Nokia.

I like the phone so far. There are very few apps that are not available on this platform and that has not hindered my use at all. As a former iPhone user, the switch has been very easy.

I have been a WP user since Lumia 900 came out three years ago. HTC was an upgrade from 920 and I am not disappointed. In fact, I love this phone. Its lighter, screen is gorgeous and it is fast. With quad-core processor and 2GB ram, it is good to go next couple of years. Having said that, I do miss couple of lumia exclusive apps on this phone, but I hope Microsoft fixes it to promote more third party manufactures to join WP domain.

I just upgraded from an HTC One M7 Android phone. This is my first Windows Phone. Very impressed with the OS. Much richer and refined than I would have figured... and some features are easier to use than on Android or iOS. The phone itself is simply awesome. Superb build, wonderful sound, great screen, fast, responsive, and extremely solid. Very solid battery life as well. Can't say enough good things. Definitely recommend it you're thinking about a Windows Phone.

I'm a former Nokia 925 owner, so I'm seasoned Window OS user; Using the HTC One M8 is the best Windows Phone experience out on the market now; From beautiful phone design and improved Windows 8.1 OS, this phone is one of the best phones period; I've owned an Apple phone & an Android phone and in terms of functionality and UI, Windows OS is the best; Closing the app gap would make Windows OS better in the public eye.

Awesome design, has only reset (crashed) twice, since Sep of '14, battery is flawless, yes design differences like no hard dedicated keys, but rock solid! Only gripe is the lackluster camera, erghhh! But I work from my phone and all the biggest latest apps work perfectly! Highly recommended!

I thought to try this phone out. I suffered the phone freezing like a Windows 95 PC. Functionally it is backwards. Buttons on opposite sides making.messaging horrible and limited apps
