It was great for a couple weeks! Now theres a terrible taste and I can't figure out how to make it go away (I washed everything and put it back together and it tastes even worse than before!)

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. After Zero Water filters have been exhausted and have not been changed, the water produced from the filter may have a distinct smell or taste and the TDS reading may be higher than your tap water. This is a result of the water passing over the “spent” Ion Exchange Resin beads. We have gone to great lengths in reducing that taste/smell in product development however this is simply a characteristic of filtering water with a Dual-Ion Exchange system.
In order to avoid a change in the taste of the water it is important to test the water regularly and change the filter when the digital meter reads 006.

Effective, convenient, and attractive on the kitchen counter. We drink a huge amount of water daily. We fill this often during the day but it is easy to pour a pitcher of water on top. You can see the crystal clear clean water through the clear glass. I make a huge thermal flask of water with strawberry lemonade collagen powder and ice for my work and I am healthy and relatively happy.
