Not quite...

We've been using this glass pitcher version of the Zero Water dispenser for about two months now. It's not quite living up to our expectations. The larger format is definitely more convenient for us. But...
We wanted to reduce our exposure to plastics in hopes of moving to this more expensive glass dispenser, but alas, the filtered water is constantly sitting in the plastic Zero filter. Our fault for not realizing this beforehand.
The second issue is the glass pitcher seats only loosely into the base (not well designed), so the glass pitcher can easily tilt and slide inside the base.
The third issue is the dispensing valve is plastic and a bit flimsy. And we've had an issue with this valve leaking slightly, and emptied the pitcher, used more care in tightening the nut over the threads and gaskets. So far so good. But as much as the valve is opened and closed to dispense water, I'm concerned that the slow leak will return. And also with the glass pitcher able to tilt in the base, wonder how much the tilting influences re-positioning the valve, eventually leading to the slow leak?
Hopefully Zero/Culligan will invest into a higher end version of this pitcher.

Cleans like nothing I have seen!

I bought this with the meter and tried the faucet water with the meter before and after. I tried my under sink filter with meter and purified water. Not only was the filtered water and faucet water not clean but when adding to zero water filter it was 0.00. Even tested with purified water at 0.07 and was made to 000 afterwards. I love this product. I want one for my entire home system.

Good enough looking for the counter.

I'm a few months into this. It is not difficult to fill with my faucet that extends, others might find it a challenge. The spigot is plastic and extremely slow to fill a glass. Water below the spigot doesn't come out so when it's that low I empty it before adding fresh water and that's a bit of a pain. I like the taste. It's good enough looking to sit on the counter and reminds me constantly to up my fluids! We use it for making hot beverages or boiling noodles and in the sodastream. Compared to my smaller pitcher/dispenser, It doesn't drip like my other smaller pitcher or get too heavy to lift to use the pour spout; I appreciate not having to push a button in while getting water through a spigot and since there is no pouring mechanism water doesn't splash all over the place. We often add ice cubes when we fill it and the temp is much improved. The filter has lasted for quite awhile. It's easy to move despite the size. Overall I'm pleased with this purchase and use it daily. The plastic spigot is disappointing and the filters aren't cheap, but we test water regularly and it is really doing the job.

poor design

the 40 cup unit is designed to sit back on a counter and still allow a cup or glass to be placed under the spigot. I do not use the silver stand; instead I keep my unit at the edge of my counter. the spigot is so far up from the bottom of the unit that about 2 quarts of water remain below the spigot. in order to use that water I have to take the unit apart, carry it to the sink, (it's heavy for an old woman!) and tip it to pour the remaining water out - I don't like the idea that some water is never removed and becomes stagnant. Also, the water comes out of the spigot very slowly because there is not enough head pressure above the spigot. I have switched the reservoir and filter to a different glass container which also holds 2.5 gallons (sold for iced tea and lemonade), but has the spigot closer to the bottom; still not a perfect solution, as the reservoir just sits on top of the rim of this container and some water remains below the spigot, but it is lighter to carry to the sink for complete emptying. I would use one of your smaller pitchers designed for pouring from, but they are all plastic. I believe all plastics will eventually be found to be unsafe. You need to design a glass container with a spigot close to the bottom, or sell a glass pitcher.

Thank you for your feedback. I have shared your review with our product design team. I have the same dispenser and never let the water get low enough so that the level of the spigot comes into play. Instead I fill the dispenser often, using a measuring cup in lieu of bringing the dispenser over to the sink. As far as the flow from the spigot is concerned, try keeping the tap straight up and down vs all the way open, this has improved the flow for me.

I was looking for a counter top water dispenser, but tired of filling it with 1 gallon bottled water...this not only solved that problem, but created a healthier option, saves on plastic and just makes life easier!

Location of spigot

We just started using our 40 cup carafe yesterday and noticed the placement of the spigot. We’re not sure if the hole was placed incorrectly or the design isn’t low enough to empty the carafe. Our concern is the water would become stagnant on the counter.
We have used the 39 cup for a 1-1/2 years and it drains to the bottom. However, the push button is getting harder with arthritis.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I have this dispenser in my home and don't let the spigot location come into play, simply by keeping the dispenser full of water.

Overall Good, Except for a Couple of Minor Issues

Overall, this is a nice water filter dispenser and I like the taste of the water! There are a couple of minor issues...I wish they had supplied a metal spigot instead of a plastic one. Also, the placement of the spigot in the glass dispenser doesn't allow all of the water to ever be completely dispersed unless you tip the dispenser to get most of the water out. Lastly, the water comes out very slowly. Instead of holding a glass until it fills, I strongly suggest you always keep several large containers to pre-fill with water, so you always have some on hand.
