Ice maker issues

Unlike some reviews I have read re: this product I have had the opposite problem with my ice maker. Initially everything worked well for about 6 months then I began experiencing issues with the ice maker not producing ice. The ice maker worked intermittently. My authorized repair person ordered a replacement part which came in and it was the wrong part. He reordered and replaced it. It worked for a couple of weeks producing ample ice but it has now stopped working again-no ice. I called the company and after talking to several people I finally was able to get them to extend the warranty for an additional 6 months. This has been an extremely frustating experience. The authorized repair person has been to my house going on 4 times. I am not impressed at all with this product. In my mind there is a design flaw with the ice maker. I had spoken to the appliance dealership where the unit was purchased and the salesperson said that this is an inherent problem with the ice maker units in the refrigerators across the board.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been purchasing Frigidaire products for most of my adult life. Washers, dryers, etc.
My first resent purchase of the Frigidaire 27.8 French Door
model called for 6 service calls in the first 6 weeks and was replaced by Frigidaire with its Professional Model which is basically the same but with a few more glitzy additions.

So far it's working O.K. with the exception of a intermittent
vibrating noise.

I will hope for the best and purchase an extented warranty just to be on the safe side.
However, in the future I will do a lot more homework prior to purchasing another Figidaire product.

SINCE PURCHASE I'VE HAD ONE PROBLEM AFTER ANOTHER .FREEZER BROKE TWICE CAUSING, ONCE WHILE WE WERE AWAY FOR THE WEEKEND CAUSING FOOD TO GO BAD. ICE MAKER VERY POORLY DESIGNED. ICE OVERFLOWS THE ICE CONTAINER ABD FALLS BEHIND THE DRAWER, MAKING DRAW IMPOSSIBLE TO CLOSE. i HAVE TO GET DOWN ON MY HANDS AND KNEES TO GET ICE OUT FROM BEHIND THE DRAWER TO MAKE IT CLOSE.

I WISH I HAD BOUGHT A LESS SOPHISTICATED FRIDGE

I AM VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE PURCHASE, THIS FRIDGE IS SO SPECIALIZED AN ELECTRONIC THAT I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH POWER FAILURE AND THE FRIDGE TOTALLY TURNS OFF AND IT DOES NOT WANT TO TURN ON AGAIN.
I HAD ACTUALLY TO HAVE SOMEBODY LEND ME A FRIDGE WHILE I SOLVE THIS TECHNICAL PROBLEM, AND I BELIEVE THAT I WILL HAVE TO BUY A UPS SO THAT THE FRIDGE DOES RECEIVE ELECTRIC SUPPLY AT ALL TIME SINCE REGULAR ELECTRIC PROTECTORS FOR FRIDGE DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK FOR ME AT LEAST

Frigidaire FPHN2899LF Good and Bad

Great size, and everything is laid out well in this model. Controls are clear, and not within rieach of little ones. Not so great is the deisgn of the Freezer divider, it is poorly designed, and I've had techs out here to remedy it, I believe that it is the design that is flawed. The support bar endded up riding on the top of the cage above, and makes noise when it happens. The last fix was done at the house, and fixed some of the noise. Overall I like it, wish they had told me that the next Generation would be made in the U.S, and not MExico !!!

the freezer has been a constant battle making ice. i've had the repair service out probably 8 or 9 or 10 times now. i've lost count. very frustrating to say the least.

Mostly love...

Love the bottom freezer and the french door style. Did not get ice/water in door feature and had some issues with the ice maker the first month or so; but seems to be "fixed" now.
Like the "reduced" fingerprint finish of the s/s but the handles are a different finish and fingerprint and smudge quite easily.
Love the LED ramp up lighting and overall am very satisfied.
I would recommend this to a friend!
