Energy efficient and easy to use!

This freezer is so quiet and retrieving my frozen food is a breeze! I know what I have at a glance, and don't end up going to the store to buy another package of chicken breasts when there are 3 already in the freezer. It is so much more energy efficient than my old chest freezer as well...I see $10 and more savings each month compared to last year's electric bill.

I purchased this freezer mainly because of space limitations I have and positive ratings it received. So far, I am pleased with its performance and quality. The only "con" I can report is that it does not have a door lock like my previous freezer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Quality control?

Worked fine for about a month, then temp. raised. Needed a service call to re-seal the door (manufacturing defect) and replace temperature defrost sensor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great freezer, keeps food frozen!

We have not had any issues with this freezer. The capacity is great for our family of 4--we buy a quarter cow beef and chicken in 40lb boxes routinely and freeze summer veggies. The door space is great for soups, etc. and the basket at the bottom is pretty useful. We just used some green plastic bins from Ikea to organize stuff inside; two of them can stack within one shelf.I did once accidentally leave the freezer door open, but did not notice any alarm. I don't think the temperature dipped enough (it wasn't that long) to trigger it, perhaps. So I have never really heard the alarm. I really like the fact that there is an "on" indicator light at the bottom, as sometimes our circuit trips for some reason (perhaps overload during the summer) and I like to make sure that it is always on whenever I pass it.

I gotta say, this freezer works perfectly for my needs. It makes little noise when running and I haven't once had any frost on my food and I've had this freezer for almost a year now. I have the freezer in the same room as my furnace and washing machine and dryer and I'm amazed at how seldom the thing runs. What I love the most is the suction it does when you close the door. More often then not, I won't close my refrigerator's freezer door all the way and I get frost all over everything. Not with this freezer though!

we like our new freezer very much. I like the safety feature of the red light at the bottom which indicates that the power is on and frig is working. the design and look of the freezer is very nice. we keep it in our garage as an addition to our kitchen refrig/freezer which is a French door frig with a bottom freezer. the freezer in our kitchen is pretty useless by design. I think everyone who has this type frig ends up getting a supplemental freezer out of necessity.I also bought this freezer because it was rated as having a good repair record.

22 years ago we bought our Whitlpool washer and dryer and had it many years with only a few fixes! Bought a Whirlpool gas stove 19 years ago and it's still in use. So when we needed a freezer we did not hesitate to get another Whirlpool! We bought a 16 cubic foot upright and we are very satisfied. Thank you Whirlpool!
