Lint trap is ridiculously poor

We bought the dryer and were super excited for it. When we got it home, it worked fantastic for the first two weeks. I am a habitual lint trap cleaner. I take the dryer apart to clean it out often. For whatever reason, this particular model has a loose lint trap. Lint gets through it and builds up below. The check vent light never goes off. EVER. We completely removed the front, cleaned the hoses and every place we could clean. STILL IT PERSISTS. Tonight, luck we were home, beacuse the lint trap started smoking. Another night of taking the dryer apart. As I wrote this, my husband said "oh my God. Come look" this product almost burned my house to the ground.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
