Several problems through years
on April 23, 2016

Our refrigerator finally bit the dust after about 6 1/2 years. We loved this model originally. However, we've had several problems through the years. First the plastic strip came off in between the doors after about 3 months so we didn't have a good seal the entire time we owned it. The bottem drawer handle was very loose. We tried several times to tighten the handle but I think it was supposed to be loose? After owning the refrigerator we had an issue with the water line in the back. There was a slow drip and it took a repair person several times to fix it. he couldn't figure out where it was coming from. This ruined our hard wood floors becuase there was a constant water drip. This weekend we noticed the refrigerator was not staying cold. The freezer was fine but we couldn't figure out why the tempature was not staying cool. A repair person came today and showed us where the lights had burned holes in the plastic. This resulted in cracks and lost cooling. We are hanging it up and looking for a new refriugerator. I don't think we will buy another Frigidaire.

Water line freezes without continuous use..

Bought this model 2.5 years ago... No Problems first two years... Since then water line freezes and no water at the door and no ice production. Just had service out, and they said a non-repairable manufacture defect is causing the issue. The insulation in the back slowly collects condensation, and eventually becomes saturated enough where it causes a cold spot, that freezes the water line that passes through it. Said there is nothing that can be done, really? 2.5 years old and no ability to get filtered water or ice from the dispenser? very disappointing.

I want to love it but .....

We have had this refrigerator for 4 years. I want to love it except for the fact that it has been nothing but trouble after the first 8 months. Ice Maker in the door has been worked on 6 times and has been replaced once. We have just turned it off now. Recently, we discovered the water line had a slow leaked and it leaked through the flooring in the kitchen. I wished I would have seen all the reviews on how bad this fridge was before buying it. Very disappointed that we spent so much money on this junk! Thank goodness we had a extended warranty or this would have cost us a fortune. Warranty is expired and now I am going to look for a new refrigerator. I will not buy Frigidaire again!

I bought the refrigerator 3 years ago. Ice maker been replaced once, valves replaces at least once, instead of getting better, now I don't have water on the door either. To make things worse, look at the photo to see the coating peeling off. Sorry software does not allow a picture. Take my word for it, don't buy it

Ice maker---ugh!

This was fridge was put in by the builder. I have to empty the ice daily--what very little it makes--or it starts to melt forming a solid block on the bottom of the ice drawer. We learned this when the drawer froze itself shut. I still buy bag ice which, with the small size of the freezer drawer is really inconvenient.
The doors do not close on their own. I shouldn't have to have someone out to adjust them! They should be installed correctly in the first place!
The open basket style freezer drawer just leads to stuff all over my floor.
And, the vegetable drawers have already broken. There are only two adults in the house so rough handling by kids/teens is NOT the problem. The flimsy cheap plastic is the problem. I have only been in this house since March (it's July 2 as I type) and I am ready to replace this already!

Poor ice maker

Bought all new gallery appliances for kitchen remodel a year ago. Very happy with all of them, including refrigerator except for one issue. It has the most inefficient ice maker I have ever seen. We tried all the "trouble shooting" hacks in the manual but it can't keep up with ice. It's only me and my wife in the house so I wouldn't think that should be a problem. Our last refrigerator we had to periodically turn the ice maker off because it made so much. Even setting this one to quick freeze doesn't make a difference. We wind up having to keep a bag of ice in our freezer. Not what we expected.

Greetings, Teke! Thank you for feedback on our Frigidaire Gallery French Door Refrigerator. Your ice maker should produce 2.5 to 3 pounds of ice per 24 hours. Please contact us directly, if your ice maker is not producing the amount suggested. Also, depending on your needs you are able to add a second ice maker to your refrigerator. Thank you again, for your time and comments.–Kindly

Not happy!

I bought this fridge and the ice maker quit working after several months. They gave me 100 bucks toward a new fridge, so they know it is a defective ice maker. Also, the interior light burned a hole through the ceiling of the fridge.

DISAPPOINTED

This unit has been an inconvience. I have had nothing but problems with the ice maker. I had the original unit replaced and this unit is having the same problems. The storage is not very good either. I will never buy a french door unit again. The only positive thing I have to say is the appearance is excellent.
