No ice

We installed this large, family sized refrigerator in a new home in a cool climate and when we started it for the first time, it could not make enough ice for even two people. I turned on the "Quick Ice" feature, but that did not make much difference. I timed the icemaking. It took a little over two hours to drop one batch of cubes (8 cubes) and it took about 7 minutes before it refilled to freeze a new batch. We had to buy trays to make ice like we used to do 50 years ago!! If you have more than one person in your family or ever plan to have company, plan to buy or make ice, because this refrigerator won't do it!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

As a replacement this is a step up. The bottom freezer is such a good idea. To be niggeling I do criticize the upper doors storage as poorly worked out.

Purchased less than 3 wks ago and already freezer temp went up to 22. Tried everthing and finally had to unplug unit for 5 min to reset and after plugging back in, it has made loud popping noises and fan now hums when it cycles on. Waiting for appliance service to return phone call.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a nice refrigerator, but it makes more noise than I was exprecting. I also think there should be a door ajar alarm for the freezer. Once is wasn't closed all the way, and the temp was up to 17 before an alarm sounded. Other than those things, I love the space. could throw a huge dinner party and not run out of room I am sure.

Nice Fridge

I've had this fridge for a month and its been great. Quiet, it makes plenty of ice, it has a nice layout and hold tons of stuff. I had a french door Amana that was fine too. But I really like the digital controls in the door- and the door alarm gives piece of mind. And this was cheaper. No gripes. It's for a new home, I have all Frigidaire appliances and wouldn't change a thing. Okay- well an internal water dispenser would be perfect. But that would have costed more and I was on a budget. Additionally it's a lot easier to keep clean than our old stainless fridge.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great with issues

The Frigidaire French Door model with freezer and ice maker on the bottom has been a great addition to our kitchen. We have enjoyed the style and use. However, the door alarm will from time to time go off and we must open and close the door again. The magnet sensors for the door alarms do not line up all the time or they are too sensitive to closure alignment. Better engineering and tolerances would fix this problem. All in all, we are very pleased with the refrigerator.

Expected More for the Price

The refrigerator is ok, but 2 features are really inconvenient. To turn off the ice maker, you need to open the freezer and reach to the back rear corner and flip up the icemaker arm. It's really a stretch to get back there. The other inconvenience is that the top drawer of the freezer has a magnet that requires a lot of push to disengage so you can access the bottom drawer. It can't be done one-handed.
