Least Disappointing

The fridge is the least disappointing of the Frigidaire appliance package I purchased for our new house. We have already had a service tech out for the ice maker and of course the part had to be ordered and it still isn't fixed. It barely makes enough ice for us (small family of 3) and that is when we ration it out. To top it off it sounds like a thrashing machine when it is getting ready to dump a batch of ice. Wow, I thought technology was supposed to improve over time. I have a 21 year old Kenmore that runs circles around this thing. The y just don'e make them likt they used to.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good for a couple months

This refrigerator work well for about 4 month, then it was one problem after another. The ice maker stopped working, then randomly started up again only to back up and create a massive ice build up (needed to defrost).
Next the motherboard went, for no apparent reason (the guy who came to fix it said that he must have replace 8 of them that year, in similar Frigidaire models). All of the food went bad and turned everything to soup, the thermometer maxed out at 80f! Great to come home too during a heat wave!!!
A week after the motherboard was fixed, the fridge broke again. Had to completely defrost to get it to work, so there goes another batch of groceries. Now I'm waiting on my tired repair, in as many weeks.
Great product.....

constant problem

i have had the ice maker serviced 3 times and its broken again. now the compresser is shot and so is the fridge. i have had it only 4 years. Never again will i buy a Frigidaire

Terrible design

This came with a house we bought and it's easy to understand now they left in behind. The icemaker works when it wants to. Whenot is does work if you open or close the freezer door at all quickly the ice tub launches pieces of ice behind the pull out compartment which in turn blocks the freezer draw/door from closing all the way.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hey Cw2306, I regret you are not enjoying your refrigerator. You mention intermittent ice production, I wonder if the water filter may need replacing. We recommend replacing the water filter every 4-6 months (for an average family of 4) depending upon usage and water hardness, and Ohio has notoriously hard water. I had an issue similar to yours with ice jumping out of the bin and landing behind the drawer. I put an oblong cover for plastic ware that I had in the cupboard, behind the ice bin and that worked for a while. Until my son in law discovered my ice bin was put in backwards (one end is much higher). If this doesn’t relate to your ice bin challenge, perhaps the bin is overfilling. If overfilling, you can raise the shut off arm to turn the ice maker off. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reconnect directly with us. Your friendly Frigidaire lady, Ruth

Very Bad - 4 years 6 service calls. Save your $

Bought 4 years ago along with matching dishwasher, stove, and microwave.
Have had 6 service calls so far with techs in my area, replaced seals 4 times. Non stop issues. Have lost atleast 1k in spoiled food over the years. after defrost for a night it works again for a few months then again, temps rise and everything goes bad.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Years of Problems with this model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our first version of this model was a lemon. I had repair people out 7 times while the refrigerator was still under warranty in the first year. Eventually Frigidaire did replace the refrigerator with a brand new model for which I give them credit. The replacement model never made ice as it should. We have had repairmen out several times as the automatic ice maker would freeze up. For the last year we have been dealing with a layer of ice the forming in the bottom of the freezer, but we were still trying to hold on as this was a major purchase. During the most recent ice layer removal, we have found that the food in the bottom of the freezer is no longer frozen and we must throw it away. Now we feel we have no choice but to replace it as we don't feel it will ever be fixed adequately.
