Possibly the worst appliance purchase I have made.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator thinking it was a "Professional" model with hi performance and reliability. Like many other users, I have had problems since day one. Ice and water dispensing is the biggest problem. I get lots of both on the floor as the unit does not want to shut off. I also have had the broken plastic shelves to contend with and poor temperature control in the fridge portion. Food frequently freezes in many areas. Likely I will be shopping for a new fridge soon as there are too many weird problems to repair on this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ice on the floor

The cube ice dispensor turns out ice so fast that some always ends up on the floor of the kitchen. Contacted Frigidaire and they sent (free) a plastic chute that helped a bit, but now we have ice on the floor only half of the time. Changed to using crushed ice, but I like cubes in most of our drinks.

We have had trouble with the ice coming out too fast and going all over the floor. The Chill drawer is too cold and freezes lunch meats. The power ice feature doesn't seem to make ice any faster than normal.

Love it, love it and love it. This refrigerator just replaced a 3 year old GE Profile, by far a better product. I will never buy GE or Whirlpool ever in my life.

Great Fridge

Purchased this fridge packaged with a range and wall oven also made by Frigidare. Very happy with it although the cubed ice seems to release very aggressive. It could just be me as our last fridge did not have this feature. I would recomend as this fridge as a great "buy for the buck". I have begun to master the timing of the ice cube release. It was easy to set up and for the price, perfomance and appearance.... its a winner!

I really like this unit. It has a lot of storage, it is easy to clean and the interior air is a bonus that I never thought about before.
However, there are a few things that I had problems with when I first hooked up the refrigerator. When I plugged in the power, the interiors lights would not come on at all. I eneded up taking the corner covers off to inspect the electrical connections. We had to remove the doors to get it into our house, so I thought maybe I forgot to plug something in. That was not the case. I'm not sure if it just took some time to energize the electrical components, but the lights just all of the sudden started working and have continued to work ever since.
Another thing was when I hooked up the water line and flush the system, I didn;t get anything out of the water nozzle for at least five minutes. Not even the sound of air coming out. So I took the line back off to make sure there was water coming out of the line since the house had sat empty for a while before we bought it and moved in. There was plenty of pressure from the line. When I hooked the line back up to the refrigerator and tried flushing the system again, then I started getting air coming out of the nozzle. It took a good long time (15-20 minutes) to get all of the air out of the system, but once that happened, it has worked beautifully ever since. And the taste of the water is superior to what you can buy at the store.
The last thing that still bothers me is the middle chiller drawer. The bottom of the deli drawer sits on top of what shoul dbe a usable shelf, but it is unmovable. When pulling the drawer out, it actually slides against the top of the drawer below it, so it makes this skretching sound. I tried to take it apart and see if I could move it enough to fix it, but I could only slightly improve it. It still rubs, but not as bad as it did before. I think either this is a design flaw or it was assembled incorrectly.
This is the second Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerator we have owned and even with it's flaws is still the best we've owned. If I had to buy it again, I would inspect it better either before leaving the store or before the delivery truck left, but I would definitely buy it again.

A few issues

First off, the water dispenser has never dispensed a single glass of cold water. The ice dispenser shots out ice cubs, usually 5 or more at a time like a grenade launcher. This is also true of the crushed ice. I have yet to have ice all over the floor. The food in the compartments are always freezing in spite of closing the vents. The none smudge feature does not apply to the door handle, constantly wiping them off. And Lastly, the stainless steel plastic feel off of the digital display.

Looks pretty

I was a first time home buyer and therefore a first time appliance buyer. I was most worried about how the product would look in my home and I over looked the most important functionality piece. One of the plastic frames that holds the glass shelf in the fridge broke within the first six months. I called care and they said it was not covered under warranty because it was cosmetic. Without this plastic frame, you do not have a shelf to hold stuff on in the fridge which makes it a functional piece not a cosmetic piece. I do have to give it customer care though. They replaced the part under a one time customer satisfaction over ride.
The icemaker is not great. It shoots ice cubes everywhere instead of a controlled dispense. It has done this since day one. Lastly, the shelves in the freezer door could have been arranged better for maximum storage. Otherwise, it looks great in the kitchen.
