Love this game

My daughter got this game for her 4th birthday. She loves Tinkerbell and I thought it would be a big hit. It was - but she wasn't ready for it at 4... At 4.5 years she picked it up again and finished the game in an evening. It is one of her favorites and she is now adding and subtracting double digits without help. Once she is fully comfortable with the concepts, I can further tailor the game to her new ability level.
The text heavy game interface is a big negative. The maze like game play is actually not so difficult as others make it out. There is a big arrow that tells you where to go. The help feature is great as it explains the mathmatical concepts with narration and images, outside of game play.
It's a wonderful game that most appropriate for children 5 and up with a preference for math...
Pros: Good for on-the-go play, Fun for kids, Grows with child

challenging math, great graphics

This game has some very challenging math. My 5 year old has kind of shelved this app for a bit, but I'm not worried. She's done the same with other math apps and comes back to them when as the material is more her level. The graphics and fairies draw her in, and the math is great. This is one she won't outgrow for some time, because the content is challenging. She is not frustrated with it - I think because she loves the fairy aspect of it. This is NOT for preschoolers - mind the age recommendation on this. I saw other reviewers upset it was too hard for their very young children.
Pros: Fun for kids, Grows with child, Good for on-the-go play, Educational

This products is disappointing

We purchase this product for our daughter for Christmas and she played this game once and doesn't want to play it again. I tried to encourage her to play, but after I played with it myself, I knew why she won't play this game anymore. The game doesn't narrate very well and it confusing because you don't know which way to go or what exactly you are looking for to get to the next level. In other words you are going in blind with this game.
Pros: Not engaging enough

My dauther seems to like this game. She does not spend a lot of time with it. Which tells me its either too hard or too easy. I am going with the too hard. Sometimes if she has to figure things out she changes games.
Pros: Good for on-the-go play, Fun for kids, Grows with child

My daughter really got a jump start on her math skills from this game. Her teachers were really impressed that she scored above average on her math tests, even in areas that most other students struggled in.

We can not get the game to work on the first addition question. It is either broke or much too hard. I have tried for over an hour to make it past the first step. To say the least, I am very upset.

FYI : We purchase this for our five year old (the youngest of seven). This game does not narrate what the characters are saying to one another. Therefore the younger non readers must have someone read to them the storyline. A flaw many of the other games do not have.

I bought this game for my daughter because I love disney products. My daughter never plays it because it perpetually freezes, won't let her advance to any level, and most of the time won't even open!!! It stays on the initial screen despite any button that gets pressed! What a waste of money. Now I'm hesitant to purchase more games .
