Works well most of the time

I have been using my Ally for 6 months now and I like it a lot. It has it's problems but what device doesn't? The keyboard is great to have and when I am in a hurry the touch screen keyboard works great. It can be slow at times and most apps in the market place I have tried works well. The biggest downfall is the GPS. It takes forever to locate me and tends to send me either to the wrong place or the long way to get there. Other than that I like this phone.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Quality

Great Buy.... so far

Although I have only had this phone for less than a week, I love it! I have been holding off on writing any sort of review waiting for problems to surface, but I am happy to report that so far I have had no problems. I suspect that some of the problems I have read about, which almost kept me away from the phone, were due to the users. This is me and my wife's 1st smartphone, and it has proven to be very user friendly so far. I would definitely recommend this to others. Keep in mind being a smartphone it is power hungry, that being the only drawback I have noticed so far. Having a computer in your pocket definitely requires power. I have been able to make it through the work day and evening without having to plug it in. Keep and eye on your apps running in the background, as well as what you have turned on (i.e. bluetooth, wi-fi, etc.) and you should have no problem making it a full day. As far as durability, my son dropped it on the kitchen floor the 1st day, and it did not seem to affect it one bit. I will most likely be investing in the cover kit to keep it looking great. For me the size of this phone is perfect. Going from an EnV2 to this was not very drastic at all. So far, I love this phone!

it's o.k.!!! I don't like that the notification ringtone does not work all the time. I have to turn off the phone then turn it back on. It actually worked for about a month now it will ring sometime. and mostly not at all. very disapointing!!!! not sure how to fix this????

Not compatible with comcast email

Extremely disappointed I can not pick up my comcast email more than twice a week and when I do it often disappears part way through the download before being opened or read. My blackberry did great with comcast. I have been told comcast and droids are incompatible.
I like the browser speed and apps that I did not have on my blackberry, but email should not be a problem.
Also would like to see OS upgraded to 2.2 and the phone to be completely handsfree in Bluetooth mode so meets state laws for driving and for driving safety.
If droids are going to use gcalender it should also sync gtasks without a separate app.
Pros: keyboard and touchscreen

I've had this phone since June of 2010, and the more updates they do and the longer I have it the more I hate it. At first I loved this phone and was so fun to play with, I downloaded lots of apps and played around. Now I have 2 apps on this phone and no pictures and no text messages because it keeps saying my internal memory is full, therefor not allowing me to text until space is emptied. Maybe if this stupid thing didn't come with so many preloads there would be more room. I still haven't found a way to move apps from your phone to your SD card, and don't even get me started on battery usage.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awesom budget smartphone

I had this phone while waiting for my other phone to be repaired and this LG was simple to figure out, worked great, and had great features.

This phone is very user friendly, and has many apps to choose from. However, sometimes the reception doesn't seem quite as good as my other LG's I used to own.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings

Love it. just wish it had more internal memory. if android didn't have to include all the preloaded apps or if you could delete them with out having to be rooted, it would be so much better. after installing 5 apps i have to begin deleting certain apps to be able to download new ones. gets to be a pain. However, about the phone just as a device, I think its perfect. Keyboard is solid, slide is perfect, everything is great! i recently put the phone, accidently, in the washing machine. It was still filling up when i realized what i had done! 2 days in a container of rice and a 30 minutes of a hair dryer on low blowing on it and it worked just as it did when i unboxed it! im going to be sad when im up for an upgrade. I will have to find another use for it when that times comes. I think im going to convert it to a permanent music player for my car by utilizing the bluetooth capability.
