There is a reason this model is discontinued!

I went back to a top loader after having a front loader for years. I was happy at first after getting used to the noises it made at each cycle. At one point I thought the machine was a going to take flight it was so loud. My most disappointing feature is the "shredding" of clothes and sheets. Yes tearing my laundry!! I did call but after the 3rd time it was out of warranty.....and I did not buy an extended because frankly I spent so much on the washer/dryer pair that I felt it was a good product....Do your homework....I thought I did....

Extremely Disappointed

After reading the reviews I see that others have experienced exactly what I have. My Cabrio just died after 6 years (guess I got an extra year or too, Yay me!!). The drive went on it and the fix is to replace the entire tub and drive system. The cost, not worth the thought. Also had the issue with the mildew smell on all our clothes, all the time. couldn't run enough Afresh tabs through it to get rid of the smell. Then the machine even stopped dissolving the Afresh tabs. The search for a real machine begins now.

Looks like I'm not the only one with a bearing problem with this machine. I cannot believe a washer would only last 4-5 years. My last one was well over 10 years old when I replaced it with this one. First it sounded like a train running through the house now every load is out of balance. I really was a fan of Whirlpool until now. Never again. I also had a problem with the dryer that I was able to fix...three times!

Not worth the money

I would rather have my 30 year old washer and dryer back than buy another "energy saver" set. The clothes come out so wrinkled that even ironing doesnt help. You have to spend more money every month just to try to keep the mildew smell out with using Affresh. So basically you will buy this washer over and over again with the money you spend on the expensive Affresh. I wish I never would of kept the washer. The dryer is just fine. The new and improved washers now days are just not worth keeping up with the Jones's. I'll take a refurbished 30 year old washer any day. Not worth it!!!!

I bought my washer brand brew about 3 yrs ago and for the past year i have had nothing but problems! The machine stops in midwash and after almost every wash it shuts down. I have to unplug it and wait until the following to do another load!

To much technology = dirty clothes
on July 16, 2011

I have owned this washer for about 6 months now and simply have never felt the clothes got clean. This was very obvious when I washed my dogs blanket, It came out of the dryer smelling almost as bad as it went in.So I decided to sit and watch an entire cycle (actually a couple of cycles with the same result). In a normal cycle I placed a shirt in last, it was on top of the dry clothes. The washer went through its sensing and filled with water (i use the term filled loosely). During the entire wash and rinse cycle the shirt never moved from the top of the load. It remained on top of the clothes and never really got wet. This new technology is simply not perfected yet. The shirt came out as dirty as when it went in. The only way I get clean clothes now is by using the "bulky" setting which caused the washer to fill to the top each time. There is no way that I am aware to adjust the water sensor.Simply put, I would not purchase this washer again and would not recommend it to anyone!
