Very strong case

I do feel like I can drop this thing anywhere and not worry TOO much about breakage, so no problems there. Just a heads up I have had this case for almost 2 years and within the first 6-7 months the bottom of the outer case (just below the home button) curled up. I tried taking off and reinstalling but no luck. Not a huge deal but if you like your case looking perfect forever you may be disappointed nonetheless. Oddly enough the same thing happened to my wife's Iphone case too sooo not sure if its just the design that seems to fail over time? But, either way, if safety is your concern this case will make your phone feel like a tank. It does make your phone quite bulky, but I'm sure you won't care if you are even considering a case like this.

The newest Defender protection offers significant damage resistance with a very thin coating. It's still thin enough to fit allow the covered phone to fit in a pants pocket but protect completely against the occasional drop. Kind of like a Kevlar vest; it's not as thin as no protection but what it offers is well worth it.

Initially I was a little confused about how to actually take apart my Otterbox and get the phone in there. Thankfully Otterbox has several very useful videos on YouTube that answered my questions. The product itself has a nearly indestructible feel to it with a hard plastic case (front and back), a scratch-proof screen protector that is part of the front part of the case and a nice thick rubber covering that goes around most of the plastic and offers excellent drop protections and grip. Besides having some issues figuring out how to pry apart everything initially I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Bought one of these for my S3, then the Tab 2 and now the S5. Quite chunky but does the job. S3 dropped several times with no nasty consequences. Hoping this performs just as well. Would have liked a cover on the power socket to keep the dust out but that's minor. Highly recommend. Bit pricey but cheaper than a new screen.
