I purchased the otter box for the Galaxy S5 as I had one for my galaxy S3, which I also purchased another one for it as well. The S3 is amazing I love it. The S5 however I find the inner hard plastic part of the case does not securely close on my phone and I'm not sure if it's just the one I got. I will probably call and ask about it as it is brand new. Other then that love the product would highly recommend to a friend. They are awesome.

I recently purchased a camo otterbox defender and it has been working flawless until one day I was working in the garage and discovered despite all of the protection it gave my phone it had cracked my screen because of a funky sitting position I had it in. it was sitting in my back pocket because of the jeans I was wearing.
over all I will not be purchasing another otterbox for my future phones.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Almost bomb proof

I am tough on my phones (clumsy) and buy a case before leaving the store. 1 week after buying my phone and case, I accidentally slung my phone into a brick wall. Other than the dust on the floor, the whole kit was in perfect condition. Having tested the robustness of the case, my gripes are in the details of the case. As an avid cyclist, I use my phone to guide me along new routes and unfamiliar roads. I frequently need to stop and check my route via various apps on my phone...this is when my sweat gets on the screen cover and ultimately between the cover and the phone's touch screen-the liquid is locked between the screen protector and the phone's screen. Cleaning the screen requires full disassembly in order to dry the screen. Very annoying indeed. The gap for the physical Samsung home button in the screen protector should be revised to reduce this annoyance. Secondly, the increase volume rocker extension on the case no longer engages the volume up button on the phone. Super annoying to have to increase volume through settings on the phone as a result. Given these two issues are a frequent annoyance, I think i am going to switch to the commuter case to make access a tad easier.

We would be more than happy to get you into a warranty replacement lid with the built-in screen protector to see if that provides a better seal for you. Makes my relatively fragile phone feel sturdy. Haven't "drop tested" it yet, but it feels protected enough to survive it. Plus with the other colours I've bought, I can mix and match a little.
It actually bounces when you drop your phone! Had a Defender case for previous phone for last 2 years, no matter how much I dropped or threw my phone around it protected it. Not cheap cases but definitely worth the investment. I've not insured this new phone for damage because I know the case will protect it, so it's actually cheaper to have the case in the long run.
